Flat white was great! Lots of treats like brownies and brookies available if that’s your thing. They also offered pastries, avocado/eggs on toast and toasted sandwiches. They use Rude Health for their alternative milks which I don’t mind.

But, in a city like Oxford where there are so many coffee shops, I don’t think it stands out particularly, hence the 4 stars.

I don’t know if it’s because I had a few hours before an awful Starbucks coffee at the train station but the coffee there was amazing. Their vegan peanut butter and chocolate cake was delicious. It’s tucked inside a small courtyard making it less visible to tourists, it was very quiet when I went there.

First visit, yesterday, Bank Holiday Monday, we popped in just before 12pm.

I had two small cappuccinos and John had two lattes, they were lovely. Terrific grilled goat cheese & chutney and cheddar / bacon grilled sandwiches. Loads of filling, tangy cheeses, very substantial and great. Friendly staff. The young server gave us a smile which not everywhere can manage.

Some attractive merchandise on display including my new favourite lightweight coffee cup!

While we were there Some folk came in but didn’t stay and they sure missed out!

We’ll be back!

Please pop in, you’ll love it!

Nice little unassuming place. But they are serious about their coffee. It is easily the best in Oxford in my opinion. My cappuccino felt like a work of art. Its not even that expensive by Oxford standards. I didn't try the cakes but they look very decent as well.

During my time studying at Oxford University, Coffeesmith was, without a doubt, my favourite local coffee shop

In regards to the coffee, it is consistently well made with high quality beans. There has always been latte art as well. While not a requirement, it’s a nice touch that shows care has been put into the drink.

The standout for me at Coffeesmith was the selection of treats available that catered to a wide variety of dietary restrictions and preferences. As someone gluten free/ dairy free (who eats dairy perhaps once in a blue moon) there were CHOICES. This was unfortunately rather rare in other Oxford based cafés. There are always multiple gluten free, and gluten free + vegan options available. My personal favourites (pictured) include the carrot cake (GF + V) and the salted caramel brownie-o (GF). The photo of me includes the interior of the latter treat (please disregard the chocolate crumb around my mouth… oops).

I also want to note the kindness of the staff; I felt absolutely welcome any time I walked in. Across the board, the baristas were lovely, amicable, and just genuinely a joy to be around and with which to chat. They went above and beyond with their service, and it was truly appreciated!

I cannot recommend Coffeesmith enough. During a time when I was spending a great deal of time studying/ working, they were a little safe heaven full of delicious treats and caffeination!

During my week in Oxford I found this to be my go-to cafe.

If your priorities are good coffee, a solid selection of snacks, and a cozy space you can spend some time in, this is a great option.

The baristas were fantastic, as well. Very kind, enthusiastic, and personable.

Note that there is wifi available and laptops are allowed, though they request that you make room for others if the cafe fills up. A very sensible policy.

Had an espresso and a latte at Coffee Smith, and both were superbly crafted using Origins coffee beans. The espresso was perfectly balanced. The café itself is cosy and charmingly tucked away through a delightful arched alleyway. I particularly loved the special wall of fame dedicated to patrons who bring their adorable dogs. It's a perfect spot to sit, read, or work—provided it’s not too busy. A truly lovely experience!

New favorite coffee shop 🥰 perfect place for all occasions. Writing here is lovely because it's so cosy but it's also the perfect place to get breakfast or lunch!

The coffee beans Coffeesmith use are some of the best in the city!!! They even sell bags to take home which is so rare!
