Common Ground is a fantastic local cafĆ© that has become a neighborhood favorite for good reason. It’s a warm, welcoming spot with a relaxed vibe, making it a great place to start the day or enjoy a mid-afternoon coffee break.

One of the highlights here is their vegetarian breakfast, which is excellent—well thought out, flavorful, and satisfying, even for non-vegetarians. If you’re looking for a classic fry-up with bacon and sausages, though, this isn’t the place, as they don’t serve meat. But if you’re open to plant-based options, you won’t be disappointed.

Their coffee is very good, with well-pulled espresso shots and perfectly textured milk, making it a reliable go-to for caffeine lovers. The cakes, on the other hand, can be a little hit or miss. Some are excellent, while others don’t quite hit the mark, so it might take a bit of trial and error to find your favorite.

Beyond the food and drinks, what really makes Common Ground stand out is the friendly and attentive staff. They create a welcoming atmosphere and always seem happy to be there, which makes a big difference in the overall experience.

Whether you’re after a leisurely breakfast, a quick coffee, or a cozy place to work for a while, Common Ground delivers. It’s a great spot for anyone who enjoys quality vegetarian food and a well-made cup of coffee in a laid-back setting. Definitely worth a visit!

Came for brunch with friends this weekend. It was divine in the sun and the food was lovely. I think our favourite thing was the delicious cold brew, just what we needed on a sleepy, sticky Sunday morning. Would recommend everything we had, particularly the Latke.
Will definitely make a point of bringing my vegan friends too - rare to be in a place that makes avoid meat products feel like no big deal.
It’s a shame the waitress in the coral lipstick was so rude when we arrived or it would have been a perfect experience. The day was saved by Ben though - a waiter that made the experience feel like being round at an attentive old friend’s place, where no request is too cheeky and you are always welcome - whatever your latest dietary restrictions are.

Always a busy place, but that just shows you how good it is. I came here with my family and had a great time!
The French toast, CG breakfast plate and Turkish Eggs were excellent!

Can't wait to come back here, maybe on a week day though.
We just visited Common Ground today (a Saturday). It was buzzing, with a great atmosphere. There was a wait, however, around 15 minutes at the door, and about another 15 to be served once seated. Honestly though, the staff were lovely, and being very attentive considering the obvious work load they were dealing with, so I can't complain.
The wait was well worth it when the food arrived. I had the French Toast and it’s maybe the best French Toast I've had in the city. The whole menu is pretty awesome though with some really unique options.
The decor’s trendy, the vibe is warm ā€˜n friendly, and the general facilities seemed clean and well-maintained.
Much to love, a solid recommendation from me.

One of my favourite go to spots as it’s so close to Finsbury Park. Been here 3 times and 2/3 I chose the ā€˜Cornbread stack’ which is delicious. I love that this cafe serves no meat or fish; making it a very sustainable brunch option for dietary restrictions, vegans and vegetarians, and that it’s a laptop-free zone. The staff on all trips have been lovely, and I’ve left happy each time.

The one thing that misses the mark and is the reason I didn’t give 5 is the price of the extras to their portion size— I ordered halloumi and mushrooms as a side one time and was quite disappointed by how small the 2 skinny halloumi pieces were (considering a block from tesco is the same price). The mushrooms as extras were quite large so I felt like I got what I paid for with those, but won’t order halloumi as an extra again.

Everything else was lovely āļø will be back for sure!
