Absolutely lovely experience! House was beautiful and brimming with history. Gorgeous garden. Everything spotless. Great location for the historic town of Axbridge which had a great pub called The Lamb. Patricia was amazing, warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was delicious! Perfect plane for a long weekend or mini break if you want to relax in a quintessential English town with endless interesting history. Would highly recommend Compton House.

Close to Cheddar Gorge. Compton house is a well looked after and cared for guest house owned by Patricia who is very welcoming and friendly, she cooks a lovely breakfast icluding home made fresh croissants and a full english breakfast. Plus a full great slection of bread, fruit, jams etc. The house is very clean with an old character charm and well kept gardens. Also planty of space for parking. Our room was huge with a 4 poster bed and a large bath. We both slept very well as the bed was comfy and the room very quite. It's also very close to Axbridge centre which is a very small historical town. We would definitely book the Compton house when we are back in the area and can highly recommend.

A very special time spent with a particularly fine and charming hostess, Patricia. In a delightful Georgian House originally owned by the renowned Fry family, set in a lovely position with attractive garden and country outlook and within minutes of the centre of the historic Axminster town square while enjoying very easy access to all the various amenities in the surrounding areas. Excellent accommodation and an outstanding home-cooked breakfast is just part of the many delights you may be sure you will experience at Compton House.

Lovely room bed is very comfortable there is everything u need in your room like body wash shampoo hairdryer ! Patricia the owner is lovely really helpful and gets u anything u need like water and milk , the breakfast is lovely all fresh and tastes good we will definitely return 😊

We could not have had a better stay in this beautiful, characterful house. Our needs were totally met, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was a feast and really set us up for a day in Wells. Will definitely return, perhaps with friends next time.

My wife and I wanted to stay at a small, intimate B&B Guest House in Somerset for our anniversary. We saw some reviews for the Compton House Hotel, a small Georgian guest house in Axbridge and decided this was for us. It is situated less than 3 miles from Cheddar (Gorge) at the top end of a beautiful little village called Axbridge, an excellent location for exploring the surrounding areas. On arrival we were greeted by the owner, Patricia, and told we could use the lounge, shown our delightful room and asked what time we’d like breakfast and what we’d like.|Nothing was too much trouble for Patricia. Our room was quirky, really comfortable and spotlessly clean. |Breakfast was amazing, great food, cereals, home made jams and marmalades,”full English” coffee or tea. It was all delicious and very relaxed and unhurried.|Patricia is a wonderful host, and we cannot recommend her guest house highly enough. Thanks for helping to make our anniversary so special. ||Recommendations for eating. The New Inn at Cross and La Rocca at Cheddar.

We spent a great time at Compton House. Our host Patricia gave us a very warm welcome and during our whole stay she let us feel very comfortable and took care of our every wish or need. ||We especially enjoyed the historic ambiance of the house and rooms which are all individually decorated and each has its own character. Everything was clean and in good condition. Breakfast was exceptional with homemade and regional products which we enjoyed very much. The garden was pretty and we were sorry that we could not make use of it due to bad weather. Thank you Patricia!
