Cooper Kitchen & Bar is a Hidden Gem. Nestled in the heart of Elland, Cooper Kitchen & Bar offers a great dining experience that rivals those found in larger cities. The highlight is their tapas deal which is six dishes for £40, a must try for food enthusiasts.
The stand out dishes are Gambas, succulent prawns cooked well, bursting with flavor. The crisp Pork Belly is a blend of sweetness and savoriness, complemented by it's Asian inspired flavours. The ever changing specials menu ensures there's always something new and exciting to try. (Or just ask the chefs to feed you, I guarantee there will be no disappointment). The venue boasts a clean and beautifully presented bar area downstairs but can be confusing at first as the restaurant is on the second floor. The front of house staff are friendly and welcoming with a good standard of service. However, to maintain the high standards set by the kitchen, it's essential to support the front of house team, as in my opinion needs more staff working on shift. While the current staff are fantastic and attentive, additional support would ensure that service remains seamless and menus stay pristine, enhancing the overall dining experience. While some may overlook Elland as a dining destination, Cooper Kitchen & Bar proves that great food doesn't require a central city location or price. Its charm and quality offerings make it a hidden gem worth discovering. Whether you're a local or planning a visit, Cooper Kitchen & Bar in Elland is a culinary destination that deserves attention. With its exceptional tapas deals ,tasting evenings and standout dishes like Gambas, pork Belly, bravas and large plates, it's a place where flavor meets value. Again the front of house needs looking into, as even on quiet nights they are too over stretched to deliver a high quality of service that coopers require. I will be back to sample more delicious small plates.

We went on a Wednesday evening with friends on Wednesday. Two of us had the Tapas offers and our friends had a spicy curry sharing plate. The food was brilliant and the service was attentive. The bill came to £71 for all four including drinks. We left £80. Superb value at £20 per head. Tremendous!

Fantastic premises split over different levels with great decor. Food is good quality and plentiful. Staff are friendly and efficient. Good choice of drinks including alcoholic. They have a roof terrace which is great on a sunny day. I would just say that they need to sort out the plant holders. Plants are dead and dried up and some holders are hanging off the wall. Replant and fix them or get rid. Otherwise five stars 😉

Arrived at Coopers on spec after a movie in nearby cinema. Pleasant young man at the bar offered drinks whilst they accommodated us for a table in the restaurant. Very nice and inclusive Sunday roast menu, ordered the roast chicken and the nut roast. Sounded great on the menu but the food that arrived exceeded our expectations! Absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly and flavourful. Amazing value for money at 2 for 25 quid. Expertly made cocktails at 2 for 14 quid. Beautifully refurbished space with a bar area, restaurant and a roof terrace and service was super friendly and efficient. We were really impressed and can't wait to go back!

Where to begin? How about at the end, it kind of sums up the whole experience. At the end of the meal, the waitress told us the till wasn't working, so although she could tell us the total, we couldn't see a breakdown- have to say that's pretty poor.

We arrived on time for a booking at 5pm, although they seemed a little confused but we were eventually shown upstairs. The waitress explained all the things that weren't available, including beef for the Sunday lunch. The three meat dinner was still available but that, it seems, is a mystery choice - turned out to be two slices of pork.

A couple of the party had the 'chicken supreme' Sunday lunch. I'm imagining either the menu writer or the chef has a good sense of humour- it was neither a chicken supreme (breast on the bone) or supreme in its eating- it was a chicken breast that was badly over cooked, dry and tough to eat - plenty was sent back to the comedian in the kitchen.

Some elements were really good, the veg was lovely and the potatoes really well cooked but at nearly 20 quid for a Sunday dinner it was well short of the mark. The Yorkshire puddings looked good but were clearly pre-cooked and served cold.

Desserts added another £7 or £8 per person, guess what? More things sold out, the person who had to make a second choice missed out on a dry and virtually jamless jam roly poly (remember the kitchen joker?).

I'd felt let down by the choice of drinks (several beers were off) but I'd have settled for keeping my glass full. We were having to chase for refills and the attention to detail was lacking.

Final act for the kitchen entertainers - I think they'd also run out of boiling water - at least I assume so, what other reason would there be for a half full tea pot?

Not to be recommended on a Sunday (other guests tell me it's better Saturday - not sure I'm up for giving them a 2nd chance).

Been to Coopers many times for drinks or something to eat but last Sunday we came for the Sunday roast and the steak and WOOOOOOW! Such great value for money, the Sunday roast was incredible and my boyfriend loved his steak, we even managed to make room for a dessert which didn’t disappoint! If you’re in the area or are searching for a new food place to try or even just a quick drink, go to Coopers you will not be disappointed!

Went on Sunday for a family birthday meal. The place is really nicely done out inside but the food was hit and miss. The Sunday lunch had amazing Yorkshire puddings and veg but the beef and lamb were terrible. The lamb tasted funny and the beef was so tough it couldn’t be eaten. I had to ask for them to swap my beef, which unfortunately saw them take my whole meal away and return 5 minutes later with just a side plate of some beef. I had to wait another 5 minutes for the rest of my meal to return and unfortunately the beef was still extremely tough and inedible. It was like the wrong cut of beef had been roasted, leaving a tough leather like texture and a very strange taste. I’m afraid we wouldn’t go back.

You simply have to try this place. Really nice bar downstairs with loads of choice. Also live music. Upstairs the small restaurant is very informal, beautifully decorated and has some nostalgic bikes on the wall which they wouldn’t let me buy 😂

Food was first class. Everything cooked very well indeed. Wait staff were very attentive, knowledgeable and really friendly. Advised in how much to order and had detailed knowledge of dishes we chose.
