I was there to attend a family wedding. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Gorgeous venue for a wedding, we had pre drinks served in the courtyard, then drinks and canapes after. Photographs by the lake and around the fountain. Food was really good and service was exceptional.|I had a huge room with a balcony looking out onto the golf course and unusually for me I slept through until breakfast. I only had a light breakfast of poached egg on toast.|Rates were very reasonable too.

My husband I got married here last year, from our first contact with Jackie in 2020 all the way through our planning journey and up until the very end of our wedding, and our return visit this year for our anniversary, the entire team was absolutely perfect!

They were always available to ask any questions however big or small, so supportive of our whole process and accommodating for every request we made. They handled our very large, loud family with ease and all of our guests commented on what a beautiful venue it is and how wonderful all the staff were while they were with us. One of our guests managed to lose the keys to the lodge on check out and the team were so understanding as we tried to find them.

Julie was our day of coordinator and she was so supportive and helpful from the second she arrived, everything ran seamlessly and she was so caring throughout the day.

On our return visit for our anniversary this year, we were given the honeymoon suite again and the team had decorated for us to help us celebrate

Cottesmore really is our happy place and we can’t wait to visit again

We arrived on the 24th Oct, shortly after our wedding day for a short stay, when we told the receptionist the hotel team apologised that if they had known they would have made our room up specially for us, in the restaurant we were made to feel special as newly Weds, and the next day after coming back to our room the staff had made a Swan from towels on the bed and a Congratulations banner..Wow.

We were blown away too by the overall quality of service and excellent facilities on site: Large Gym, Sauna, Jacuzzi, Steam room and Swimming pool, plus Golf...and more.

This is not a 3 Star Hotel, so don't be put off by that. I have been to 5 Star venues and hands down this is much better.

Look out for Oscar their friendliest resident cat.

We are book our first 2025 Anniversary to come back again.

Absolutely stunning setting. Beautiful room. The pool and sauna spa area was one of the best layouts with natural lighting due to design. The food was delicious. My only complaint is that you aren't in Hertfordshire!

I came here on a golf break and though I don’t normally do reviews I thought I would this time as my experience was such a mixed bag of very good and very bad. We played both courses. The main course was fab and quite challenging and we really enjoyed playing it. The second course was also in good condition but the first hole had a silly mickey mouse green which had such a slope it was unfair, and though my playing partners had hit good shots to the green they never found their balls as I think the severe slope had caused the balls to find the undergrowth which was situated so close to the green. Overall, the place had a real nice buzz to it and there was a lot going on with a wedding and also several groups on golf breaks. The place seemed very busy and popular. This meant the car park was rammed full even though it was a really big car park, to the extent that excess cars seemed to be using the practice ground. The accommodation was excellent with a large comfortable and clean room, and the rooms were situated around a very pretty courtyard. |Our evening meal was also excellent and beautifully presented. The bar was busy and noisy but that was fine and we got served efficiently. The staff were mostly young and very pleasant. Shout out to the older lady Helen though who worked so hard and seemed to be there all day and evening. Basically, all the staff we interacted with were very nice.|Breakfast was a contrast to the evening meal as it was so disorganised. We had to ask several times for glasses and cups. Other tables had their food order taken before us even though they had been sat down at least 10 minutes after us. I asked if there was decaf coffee in the machine and was told yes, but there wasn’t. Whereas the evening meal had been so good, breakfast was disappointing. Staff seemed to be working both in the restaurant and serving in the bar so maybe they were a bit understaffed that particular morning. |Overall I did enjoy my stay and would love to have given this place 5 stars but the main thing that really let it down for me was the toilets downstairs. For such a big place and bearing in mind how busy it was, out of three toilets one was locked and out of use, one had some sort of leak coming from somewhere as there was a large pool of water (hopefully water) on the floor of the cubicle, and the other one wouldn’t flush properly. The cubicles were really tiny so it was hard to get in and out, especially when you're trying to avoid putting your foot in a puddle. On one visit, there was loo paper all over the floor – maybe to try and absorb the water. I thought it was really grim in there and as it was the same on both days I’m not even sure a cleaner had been near them. I can’t imagine the wedding guests would have been too impressed, although I think there may have been some other toilets elsewhere on the premises, the signs directed us to the grim ones downstairs. |I would definitely come here again but maybe next time seek out the alternative toilets!

Came for a wedding and stayed overnight. The venue is beautiful. The decorations for the weddings so lovely with drinks and canapés outside in the courtyard. The room was so nice and we had a little table and chairs outside. Also they had a fan in the room which was great as the day of the wedding was boiling. Good prices and we went to the swimming pool and spa before breakfast on the last day

I’ve been a member of Cottesmore since 2016, using the Gym, Golf, Tennis etc.||However wanted to note there has actually been a big improvement in their Sunday Roasts in the restaurant now. I think it’s likely the best I’ve had in a long time. Massive plate of food and delicious. Recommend going.

Great hotel in a beautiful setting. Our room was large, clean and well appointed. Lovely views over the golf course, and the outside verandah/seating area was a nice touch.

The bar/restaurant was reasonably priced and the food was decent. Breakfast was tasty and service was quick.

The pool area/steam room etc was well maintained and towels were provided. The gym was modern and the selection of equipment was surprisingly large.

The staff were unfailingly pleasant and friendly throughout our stay, and the resident cat was a bonus! We would definitely return.
