Nestled away from the main road, this place is a hidden gem in Weardale.

We were treated to an evening here as a late wedding present from some friends. The location is very appealing and the building is a lovely well kept farm house.
We stayed in the superior double room, with a sofa, TV, huge bed and ample room.

The bed was really comfy and the room was a nice temperature, even with it being a really warm evening. Cam only assume the big thick walls help keep the heat out.

Breakfast was brought to the door in a lovely hamper basket with everything we had asked for the evening before.

Zero complaints, a lovely family and very welcoming. We would stay again and highly recommend it to anyone if they fancy a retreat from the city life.

A strange and very disappointing bed and breakfast experience.

The breakfast arrangement left us feeling like the owners actively didn't want to speak to people. Breakfast, ordered the night before (baps only?!), " would be left in a basket outside your door".

We got our basket and assumed we were supposed to to eat in an unfurnished room on an unmade table at the end of the corridor. Our baps were in cardboard takeout boxes. No napkins. No tea or coffee. Juice provided but no glasses. No extra sauce aside from a miserly dribble on the bap. No cutlery.

At the end of breakfast we just left. Nobody came to say goodbye or to see if we were okay, or collect the food, or anything else.

Arrival was poor too. There is no signage on where to go when you arrive at the farm.

The beds and rooms were incredibly comfortable.

Terrible.

Back to black ink skies and stars.
The dogs took me, Face and Henri here for the night. Down a suspension testing 'road' to the farmhouse- not much lighting outside and a little scary for us 'townies' sheep greater me and my dogs on the driveway in the pitch black at 5am and even though the dogs wanted to make friends those there sheep ? are huge. Had a great though short time.

We had a night away last night courtesy of the kids thank you. Really nice B&B run by a lovely couple. Comfy bed and a tasty breakfast brought to your door on a morning. So quiet with nice views. If you're a walker it's a nice place to use as a base for a few days.

Amazing place hidden away in the beautiful English countryside! The house is a traditional farm house which has been well renovated to give you creature comforts. The hosts are lovely and will do anything for you!

Very quiet place and relaxing stay!

Attended an event for my friends birthday, everything was going well eventually until the owners of the place decided to ruin the evening. They went against their own rules, didnt let us have loud music on way before midnight - even though the music wasn't very loud to begin with, once you stepped outside you could barely hear anything. We weren't sure why the hosts were so adamant to ruin the evening for us as they kept appearing and creating a scene making everyone uncomfortable especially when we weren't doing anything wrong. I'm not sure whether this has been booked often previously, but I would definitely recommend against it as it didn't take much of them to ruin the evening, and it was quite upsetting how far they went - from turning the heating off to being very verbally abusive. With it being in the middle of nowhere it's not like the guests had much choice to go elsewhere when they switched everything off during the night!

We have been in the the events industry for many years and never had we had a problem like what we had with this venue owners. ||||SIGHT VISIT:||In December I went for the sight visit and I tried to get in contact with the owner, Sophie, who is also the manager dealing with the client. On arrival and dispute many phone calls and texts, no reply except for the caretaker arriving after 30mins who only stayed right opposite the venue itself with a massive window! During the sight visit I mentioned as to what furnitures will be needed and what we won’t need. I was guaranteed that the mentioned furnitures will be put away in the storage as promised. ||||DAY OF EVENT:||None of the furnitures were moved, I tried to call Sophie many times AGAIN no reply not even a text. The husband just barged in the venue while we were setting up without any introduction nor asked if everything is ok (what a manager) and just walked off with his two dogs. The place had no hot water since the morning, all the furnitures were man handled by us which lead to back pains as they had no consideration or the decency to respond to our messages. And you think that’s not enough the husband interrupted the party more than three times asking for the music to be turned off if not he will throw everyone out! Wow! Seriously what an experience it had been! ||||It’s a shame as it’s a beautiful venue, but if you want a beautiful venue and deal with these people, well GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

I contacted them to hire the venue for my 21st birthday as they had a events room with bedrooms/bathrooms in dec 2019. |We had a few conversations with sophie & had 3 visits to the property. Everything was going as planned. Sophies husband disturbed my event many times to turn the music down. When i clearly said we will party till 3am to sophie which she now denys. Sophie said we can have the party but just turn it down a little after 12am but on the day the husband said sophie did not say this and if this was the case They should have stated 12pm is the latest on their terms & conditions. ||They turned the heating off & made us stay in the cold after 2 phone calls at 5am the husband came to switch the heating on. They were very rude to me. No hot water in the property for us to use. We struggled to cook for the guests. |Threatened to kick us all out and lock the property after we paid the full amount. ||No place to dispose the waste we had to take it all back. ||When we confronted them they said get out of our property and shut the door so harshly allowing it to hit my mum on the hand. ||They need to be clear with what they are doing. |They need to be honest. |I do not recommend this place at all. Had enough in one night ‍♀️
