My partner and I stayed at Croft Cottages in July 2021 and had a fantastic relaxing time. ||||The Cottage we rented was Number 4 and on arrival we found it to be immaculate with homely furnishings and comfy beds. Downstairs has an old country feel to it where upstairs has a more modern country feel which works very well. ||||Downstairs is the main living area, large kitchen with dining area and a small toilet. Upstairs has two bedrooms one with a double bed and one with two single beds and the main bathroom. There all the amenities such as a dish washer and washing machine (although we never used them) a TV with freeview channels and excellent Wifi. All towels and bedding are included and I believe the cottages are dog friendly.||||Another big bonus is that every car has their own off-road car parking place and as far as I could see each cottage has their own outside seating area which catches the sun lovely in the morning and is nice to sit out with a morning brew.||||The Cottages are located in the lovely village of Ruswarp and is a perfect location if you want somewhere quiet and outside the hustle and bustle of Whitby. It is approximately 30 minutes’ walk into Whitby there is a couple of routes one hilly and one that takes you by the railway tracks and is relatively flat. ||||Just a very short distance from the Cottages there is an excellent butcher, and I can really recommend the Breakfast Sandwiches that they serve (it saves cooking Breakfast). There is a small supermarket, a pub and a lovely tearoom which is located along the river. ||||I would also like to say Emma, the host, is lovely and would very much like to take this opportunity to say Thank You and we hope to be back in the future.

We recently stayed at one of the cottages at Croft Farm. It was a perfect location and just a short walk into Whiby, beside the river and railway. The cottage was well equipped and very clean . Beds were very comfortable and linen and towels provided were of very good quality. Emma the owner was very helpful and informative, nothing was too much trouble. There is a excellent butcher just doors away for sausage, bacon cobs etc, which we would certainly recommend. The pub in the village also does good food, and everyone is very friendly. Would certainly stay there again, and will be recommending it to friends and family. Forgot to mention that is has excellent Wi-Fi. JaneG

The cottage was well set up for us, Emma had all the things in place for the covid protection. It was so calm , we finally relaxed and got to the seaside! The village has a popular Butchers/ baker's shop, well worth the queue. Great breakfast buns with bacon, sausage and runny eggs! We didn't bother cooking breakfast.||Down to the rowing boats and a chance to teach the girls how to row! A lovely hour, followed by a crab sandwich and cream tea. ||Great that our little dogs were welcomed, they are now 11 and were so happy to have lovely walks and fun on the beach at Sandsend.||This is a great place to stay, the clean roomy cottage with a good kitchen . Excellent shower and bath. Downstairs cloakroom was useful as we had 4 adults.||Have stayed here before, and will return again.

I went to Croft Farm Cottages with my family of six adults, two children and two dogs in August 2021. Finding two properties nearby at a time of such high demand had proved a long and exhausting search until I came across Croft Farm. Emma was able to accommodate us in neighbouring properties, which were ideal for our needs. They were well-furnished, comfortable, very reasonably priced and only a 20-minute walk from the marina at Whitby.

We booked Number 4 Croft Farm cottage feeling secure in the knowledge that it was in a good location and had a 4 star rating. However our initial view was very worrying. The little courtyard area was scruffy and unkempt and the garden furniture dirty. Moving inside our spirits did not improve, the spacious living room had splashes on the wall and was dusty and had big cobwebs and the furniture was shabby not chic. The antiques mentioned on the website were mainly old tired pieces which definitely could not be called 'antique' and some items like the kitchen table and the bookcase were badly scratched. The kitchen was well fitted but did not smell fresh and clean and the oven was dirty.||Upstairs the bedrooms were an improvement being reasonably spacious and pleasant. However one room contained a double bed that was completely ripped along one side, absolutely bizarre! ||The bathroon was very small but had all we needed but again was dirty so we cleaned it before it could be used. The bath had a tidemark and the nonslip mat was covered in ||black mould. The shower over bath was useless as the seal didn't work and water poured out of the space between screen and bath and the towels were grimey, worn and had marks on them.||Basically the condition of the cottage and furnishings has not been maintained and the manager must have known about these problems. I don't see how it can still boast 4 stars.||The cottage is located on a main road. We did know about this but hadn't realised how incredibly busy and noisy it was from early morning to late evening. If the cottage had been a true 4 star then the noise would have been a mild nuisance but on top of everything else it was the final straw.

Always a very warm welcome from Emma, cottages well equipped and very relaxing.||Perfect getaway, delivery coming here and never want to leave!Local butcher's fantastic for stocking up, we have visited many times, in Summer, however our last trip was in February this year, it was icy cold but the cottage was warm and cosy, and a pleasure to retreat back to after a cold day out! Would recommend these cottages to anyone, however not too much as we don't want to risk not getting booked in either!

Beautiful cottage. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. We are very particular and we had no complaints whatsoever. Host and owner Emma was on hand without being intrusive. Lovely position with countryside actually on the doorstep.
