The lodge we hired was truly stunning.
So critique below is for help only!
It's a beautiful place overall.
We went ( mother and daughter ) for long weekend.
2 bedrooms,
1 double ensure
1 twin
The Lodge was with hot tub in the Walled Garden area, it's a stunning location, with some amazing views.
Owners left a lovely welcome pack and we wasn't expecting a dishwasher and huge fridge too which made the weekend really easy.
We Booked through Hoseasons.
Critique -
* Big Cobwebs, visible only in evening sunlight ( see images ) - around lights in living room, above table / sofa area - maybe elsewhere in lodge, but couldn't see during the day. ( Not a great pre rental clean sadly).
* Mirror in bathroom off main hallway is set high ( opposite twin bedroom & would be way too high for children to see themselves, so would probably go into the main bedroom for the lower mirror).
* Hot Tub temperature was set very hot with no way to turn down. Unfortunately, couldn't use too much as was slightly uncomfortable.

The site itself is quiet - definitely NOT a holiday camp type. And that was perfect for a getaway.

We didn't get to go into the swimming pool complex as
Critique -
*Tried to prebook treatments in the beauty / spa - but the whole weekend was completely sold out when we booked our weekend away already ( 8 weeks prior ) .

So we just didn't bother with the spa / swimming area.

The site restaurant area was nice, unassuming and had really friendly staff.
The Friday (first) night, the dining area was reserved for site owners only so we had to sit alone in another room to eat.
Food was nice, but being alone, was a bit isolating.
Fish and chips was crunchy, but very nice.
We also had their Sunday carvery, which was very fresh, and with a great variety of fresh cooked veg.
The desserts were lovely too.

* The Nut Roast isn't a roast. It has the texture of "Stuffing " so the meal is quite soft in all. BUT it tasted phenomenal. So it really was a win!

Overall, lovely weekend away, very happy.
If we can, we will be back.

We didn't stay at the holiday park but went for a spa day.
Our first visit to Crowhurst.
Plenty of parking spaces. The spa was located at the rear of the park, and we found it on the site map.
We received a warm welcome from reception. The Spa facilities were quite basic, the pool was very cold but once in you climatise.
The spa treatment, however, was fabulous. I had Mia, who was professional the whole time. I enjoyed a relaxing facial and back massage.
The afternoon tea was delicious, and we sat outside on the new terrace attached to the Manor house.
The price was very reasonable for using the pool, having two treatments and the fabulous afternoon tea.
I have already recommended it to friends.
Great service all round, thank you.

Our Stay at Crowhurst | Easy to find and very nice welcome from reception staff.|We had a cabin in the walled garden. ||Positives|Very clean in fact spotless|Nicely finished |Good size fridge freezer |Dishwasher fabulous |Kitchen well equipped with most of what you could need for self-catering |Complimentary items were a welcome addition.|Hot tub was perfect at the temperature we like 39/40. Some camps hot tubes set to low and unable to change it. This was very nice to have it hot and able to control temperature, as not everyone likes it this hot. Safe steps up and into the hot tub and fitted with a handrail for added safety made getting in and out easy.| Hot tub checked every morning by staff.|Beds all very comfortable|No parking at lodges in walled garden which is good, each lodge has a parking space and you can load and unload then park. Safer for the children for sure.|All staff we meet were very helpful and friendly. |Nice and quiet holiday park.||Negative| |Speeding cars are a real concern, with no pedestrian walk way out of the camp other than the road in and out of the park made it a very hazardous walk.|Some drivers were sadly lacking in consideration, manners and a few were reckless.|Lack of security or the presence of any.|Very sad to see so many felled trees to make way for yet more lodges.|The once beautiful grounds are full of cut down trees and hardstanding's for more lodges.|Sunday Roast in the restaurant was the only time we used it. |Rather pricey and a big disappointment, roast potatoes were soggy with oil.|Nut roast was awful, it was so sweet, texture and taste more like a stuffing that would be served with a Christmas dinner.|Lighting in lodge is totally inadequate; lodge is very dark and the bedrooms even worse.| Lounge is in real need of a standing lamp at the very least, we could not see to read at night. |Inadequate segregation of waste, more needs to be highlighted for recycling, needs clear labelling on bins.|Double bed although very comfortable takes up most of the bedroom. Leaving a gap so small at the end of the bed you can't open the fitted wardrobes properly. |You can only side step to get round to pull curtains. |Not a great deal for children to do.|Would be nice to have more times for adults only in the swinging pool.|||Overall|It is a very nice holiday park if it doesn't outsize its self and loose anymore of its beautiful surroundings .

We were very happy with our experience at the park. The cabin was very well setup (Colorado Plus), we were very impressed by the attention to detail for Christmas with a little Christmas Tree to decorate yourself and a fully setup Christmas table with decorations.

The cabin was nice and clean, and the employees in general were very helpful. The heated pool is not the warmest for a winter swim, but the temperature is good enough for a quick dip if you brave it. The other facilities like the steam room and sauna are a great addition. We enjoyed out stay and will be back.

Happy with the place overall however, not many activities for the kids. There is the pool and a small soft play area however the soft play area has needs improvement as it smells of damp. If you want to use the laundrette, you need to bring coins as there is no atm at the location. It was £5 per load plus £4 tumbledry

Like the previous reviewer we went for a spa day and cream tea. Very very disappointed and we would not return. The quiet relaxation room had a woman talking loudly into her phone about her kitchen refurbishment - not a great start! Treatments were good. Spa experience was awful!! Changing rooms shocking! I’m 65 and long gone are my days of try ing to change with a towel wrapped around me and I have absolutely no wish to be faced with other ladies “bits and pieces”!!!
The air temperature in the pool was cold, the water tepid and the whole place could do with a deep clean….. it’s tatty.
£8 for towel hire - surely they should be provided free of charge?
After another terrible experience in the changing room which was packed we went to the Manor House for the cream tea. The house was covered in scaffolding and the whole place including the grounds and awful car park frankly looks unloved 🙁 - the cream tea had the biggest and worst scones we had ever eaten and not enough jam and cream.
We wouldn’t recommend a day here and definitely wouldn’t go back.

I bought a spa day for myself & friend as a birthday present. When we arrived just before 10.30 we were told that the changing room was very busy as Aquafit had just finished. The lady was very apologetic and made us a drink.
We had our first treatment, the treatment room was lovely, as was our treatments and the therapists were also lovely and polite.
We then went to use the pool, sauna, steam room & jacuzzi. This is where everything went down hill. The sauna wasn't working, the pool was tepid (fine if you are doing laps) the jacuzzi on off button was on a wall, so we had to get out and wait for the 5 minutes to switch it back on. Also the jacuzzi & steam room was really busy, probably because the sauna wasn't working and the pool was too cold.
We then went for our second treatment, a pedicure, we were sat at the top of the stairs where people could see you from entering the building, walk past you to the treatment rooms and also when going to the gym, it was like being in a goldfish bowl, I actually changed my treatment as this made me feel uncomfortable. My massage with the therapist was very good.
We then went for our cream tea, which was very nice and again the staff were lovely,
We decided to go after this, as didn't want to use any of the spa area again, due to the feedback previously.
Lastly, the changing room areas really do let the facilities down, the lockers weren't long enough to hang coats, there was only one room if you wished to change in private and the toilet area needs a total overhaul.

We had a lovely stay in Lodge 109 in the walled garden. Lodge was old, but clean and had everything we needed. The decking and hot tub had a beautiful view of the sunset. We had a Sunday carvery in the restaurant on Mother's Day which was really nice and good value for money. We've already booked to go back in November!
