We booked a table for 9 as part of the mothering Sunday celebration. We have had a great experience on previous occasions dining here. We were welcomed by Toby, who later did great work serving us a variety of drinks throughout our time and helped to carry and distribute the drinks at our table. Though a large order the meals were brought out virtually as one with little waiting for each diner. I must mention Pheobe who served us our meals, and did a sterling job replenishing cutlery and collecting the finished with plates & dishes. A mention has to be made of the chef, William. What a great job he made of preparing the different meals and getting them to the table whilst hot. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to others, and we will be back. Thank you...

You had an electrical fault and kicked everyone out of their rooms at short notice the week before. I have chased 3 times for a refund. No-one is responding. I have used you for around 1 year for work related stay every single working week. You owe me ca. £150 and haven't replied. As a starter I will be cancelling all future travel and stays at your chain until I get a response. Thereafter i'll consider my options.

Toby and Poppy looked after us when we went in on spec for a meal. They were both great and the food was lovely. |Toby was very welcoming as soon as we went to the bar and Poppy greeted us when we walked in.|Compliments to the chef.|Great pub, great food and lovely atmosphere.|We will certainly be returning soon

Absolutely lovely stay, our hotel room was clean and the bed and pillows were so comfy, we had a wonderful meal in the pub and the staff were all friendly and helpful, can't wait to stay again when we travel up to see family, I highly recommend the hotel and restaurant

We were in room 10, a twin bedded room. This room has no outside walls and no windows to view out. There are two deluxe windows in the roof. The room temperature was over 25 degrees both times we stayed. With both of us sleeping on top of the duvet in early October. We asked if another room was available, but apparently, they were fully booked.

Beware room 16. Window handles not working, tape holding work table together and bath plug broken not letting bath fill. We reported bath problem to cleaners who were unable to replace the fitting. When I removed it from the bath, the part was filthy and covered in hairs. The issue was referred to the Manager who advised it was a maintenance issue and now reported. Offered bath facilities in a room at other end of corridor - declined and made do with lukewarm showers. Went to bar for fresh coffee and unavailable as machine not working. Ended up in local garage for 2 coffees. |Stayed here before when visiting family and while tired we always thought it was clean and sufficient. Serious doubts now.
