We absolutely love this pub. We have eaten there many times both in the week and on a Sunday. Wonderful atmosphere, food, drinks and such a warm welcome with great service from everybody (Checkout the homemade cheesecake ..flavours change weekly..delicious)We had the opportunity to stay overnight last week due to a local family wedding and what a fantastic room. So clean, well decorated and appointed and such a comfortable bed! Nothing is too much trouble and the lovely Manageress/ Owner went above and beyond to help us get to our family celebration! Thank you so much.

Had a recommendation from a friend, and it’s a nice 35mins run so made a booking. Big car park and signed in at the bar. Nice friendly, smiling staff and varied menu. I ordered Lamb and Jan had Beef. Quick service even although it was busy. Piping hot food on a hot plate, with a separate little jug of gravy, really well presented great start. What can I say?, Creamy mash, delicious veg, still with a bite, fluffy yorkshire, crispy roasties and delicious Lamb, slightly pink exactly as described and just how I like my meat. Tasty gravy to top off. Absolutely Delicious. Still a bit room in my pudding stomach😂 So had a delicious molten chocolate pudd. Nice touch here, ordered coffee and was asked if I wanted it with the pudd or afterwards. I like it with the pud but usually have to ask. Very smiley and efficient staff all added to a great experience. Just knocked The Beehive at Houghton off the No.1 spot. Be back soon. ……..In fact it was so nice we’ve just re booked for a table of 12

Visited on Saturday night and had a fantastic meal. |The staff were all fabulous and the quality of the food was excellent.|The pub has a lovely vintage but modern feel. Beautifully done out and appealing.|I would say the pub is now the hub of the village and lovely to see it so popular and busy.|Definitely will be visiting again.

What a brilliant restaurant. The food was out of this world and very reasonably priced. The service was fantastic, staff being friendly, helpful and really hard working.
I can't recommend here enough. Looking forward to our next visit

Such a shame. We were recommended this restaurant, but after waiting an hour for our food, and then my wife being served a mince pie rather than the steak pie that she ordered, it just left us pretty flat. Service from the staff was fine, but obviously issues in the kitchen. A little bit of communication would have helped.

My wife and I had Sunday lunch here 18/8/24. The staff were so welcoming and very helpful when it came to our choice of drinks and food which are wide and varied. Plenty to pick from. Its just one of those places you want to spend time in and the locals are very friendly. The young chap who served in the restaurant had all the charm you would ever want your son to have (didn't catch his name) The food came and didnt disappoint, same for the service, second to none and nothing a problem. We will definitely be here again.
Thank you 👌

We stayed here on 9/08/24 for 1 night as we were going to a wedding local to this place and we were not disappointed.
We arrived to an old authentic bar serving real ales which had a rustic feel about it, we were told by the friendly barman to go to the restaurant up the stairs to check into our room.
We were greeted by the most welcoming lady who genuinely looks happy to help us, we didn’t get her name but she was slim build and had dark hair I think she may have been the manager as she was on a laptop when we went in there, once we checked in we went into the most amazing beer garden for food and drinks where there were lots of tables and a sun trap which my other half loved.
The food was amazing and fairly priced and yet again the lady couldn’t do enough for you which goes a long way.
Our room overlooked the beer garden and was spotless and spacious with an amazing shower and comfy bed, our only concern was there was no full length mirror but nothing major.
It would of been nice to of been able to have breakfast here a whole package as I’m sure it would be good going of their other food but sadly they don’t do breakfast but to be clear we never offered this when booking so we knew this before we went but I think they are missing a trick.
We will defiantly return to this place keep up the good work.
