Highly recommend this hotel. We have stayed here so many times as it’s so close to home and a perfect night away. The rooms are immaculate and super comfy. The staff are so friendly and always very welcoming. The Spa and Gym are a great touch to this gorgeous hotel. Not to mention the hotel breakfast! 😍. It’s so yummy and has a wide variety for everyone! It’s also in a great location! We wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Newcastle.

We stayed at this hotel for one night while attending an event at the Utilita Arena, seeking a convenient overnight location. The hotel is ideally situated, just a 10-minute walk from the arena, and centrally located near the station, supermarkets, and restaurants. The hotel itself is lovely and modern, with a gym and spa available, although we didn't use these facilities during our stay. ||Our room (Standard Queen Room) was very spacious with a comfortable bed, and it was impeccably clean with a pleasant fragrance upon entry. The bathroom was well-equipped with all the expected amenities. The room also featured a fridge with complimentary still and sparkling water, as well as tea and coffee, and included an ironing board, iron, hairdryer, and safe. The only downside was that the walls were quite thin, allowing us to hear our neighbors and the noise from people in the corridor coming and going. ||Breakfast was satisfactory, offering plenty of choices, though it didn't necessarily stand out compared to other hotel breakfasts - it was adequate for the price we paid and typical of a city center hotel. We arrived for breakfast around 8:30 and were seated immediately, but by 9:30, there was quite a long queue to be seated, so I would recommend going a little earlier if you can. The hotel provides a luggage room for storage if you want to go out prior to checking in/after checking out. Overall, a really lovely hotel in a super location and with great facilities.

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza on 5th January as we were booked in to see Les Miserable at the Arena. We checked in about 2.45pm and straight our room. The room was excellent. As the weather was bad we decided to have a drink in The Gin Bar. The staff were helpful and friendly, even offering 10% discount if I showed our concert tickets. We had a meal which was really tasty, together another drink. On our return from the Arena we headed for the Gin Bar again which was really busy, but a great atmosphere. Our room was very quiet and the bed so comfortable. The breakfast was great, one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had. We would certainly return to the Crowne Plaza in the future.

The hotel was really nice overall and the junior suite was good with loads of room.

The pool & spa was great and worth the stay.

2 issues. The que for breakfast was massive and rather than wait 30 minutes we went to the lounge which was in the package. It was a shame as we paid for a room with breakfast included.

We left 2 stainless steel Nespresso coffee cups in the room. I called a few days later to check and was told that no cups were found. We definitely left them so it's quite disappointing that someone has taken them after we checked out.

The staff in the club lounge were both excellent.

Beata was on the morning shift & Sally was on the evening shift during my stay. They were both very professional, helpful & really good at their jobs.

They made my stay very enjoyable.

The room & bed were clean comfortable and quiet. Just what I want in a hotel.

I ate dinner in the restaurant the first night & the food was very good.

I will definitely stay in this hotel again & I will recommend it to my friends & colleagues.

The Crowne Plaza is now my preferred hotel on visits to Newcastle.

The Club Lounge here always used to be disappointing, both with staff and food, especially for me as a vegetarian. No longer. Sally (evening) and Beata (morning) were so kind and thoughtful and friendly, and the range of food is vastly improved.

The rooms with bath and separate shower are fantastic, especially those with a view on the higher floors. The junior suites with balcony are great too, but suffer from not being properly lit and could do with some extra floor-standing lamps in the living room.

On this occasion, the temperature control took a while to calibrate to make the room comfortable. The only way to get it to work seemed to be to over-set to get it kick into the right mode and then adjust back, taking about 30 minutes before settling down.

The front-desk and bar staff were all chaming, and the location is near perfect.

We have stayed here multiple times and always had great experiences, and even this time we got a free upgrade which was amazing, however the breakfast service was terrible, we waited in a queue for 15 minutes to me seated, for there to then be no glasses and when I asked where they were the worker rolled his eyes and told me they were on their way. And then there was no plates for the food and we had to wait about 5 minutes just to get a plate. The hotel is great but as this happened on the last morning it tainted our amazing stay slightly.

Stayed here many times and not had any issues until this time. No upgrade was available so allocated a room that had adjoining door to suite next door. Once the family in the suite arrived it was clear that a noise free stay for us was not going to happen! A door that doesn’t close well will not cancel out the noise from next door. After. 30 mins we’d had enough and asked to be moved. Sent over the corridor to a room that overlooks the other rooms and had not been refurbished. At least it was quiet. Disappointing to have been treated this way despite many previous stays and our brand loyalty. Next time it maybe another IHG hotel in Newcastle and not this one. Hotel is ideally placed and a great place to stay, just beware of families in room next door!
