Fantastic B&B, location couldn't have been better, an easy walk to the town centre, restaurants and bars. Sandie was a charming host, nothing was too much trouble, she went over and above anything we have experienced in the past, in fact we stayed in a hotel after we left Sandie, and it didn't come anywhere near up to her standard. The breakfast was fantastic, a great choice, lovely fresh fruit and orange juice and homemade preserves. Plus a full cooked breakfast. The accommodation was extremely clean. This was the best B&B we have stayed in, Sandie wasn't one of the nicest ladies you could meet, she was the nicest.

We absolutely loved our time here. Sandie greeted us as though we were dear friends coming to visit and we felt that way our entire stay. Our room was comfortable and while it looked out over the street, it was very quiet. The separate bath was just across the hall and a good size with wonderful shower. We were able to park our car behind the B&B, always a plus when touring. Breakfast was very special that day as some charming visitors arrived to share breakfast with us. There is fresh squeezed orange juice, homemade granola and jams and a delicious cooked breakfast all served with a big smile and lots of style. Toby, the black lab, was so sweet and we wish we were close enough to enjoy another visit soon.Thank you Sandie for some wonderful memories, breakfast has not been the same since!

This is one of the best B&Bs I've stayed in. Lovely en-suite room, tastefully furnished with a very comfy bed, plus a hospitality tray that puts much bigger (and more expensive) hotels to shame. Sandie is a wonderful hostess, very accommodating and nothing too much trouble. Her breakfast was amazing! Granola, muesli, compote, bread and a choice of five preserves - all home made. Plus a platter of fresh fruit (including mango the morning we were there - where else do you get that) and an excellent cooked breakfast. Everywhere spotless. Can't fault Cumberland House and I'm so happy we found her as we expect to be visiting Sherborne again very soon.

It's difficult to find words to describe this fascinating B&B. Sandie is a wonderful hostess and very knowledgeable about the property. It dates from the 1500s and was originally four two-room cottages facing onto a very narrow passage off the high street. The living room is what were the downstairs rooms of two of the cottages and were knocked into one room. Likewise, the dining room is what were the downstairs rooms of the other two cottages. The B&B is furnished to a very high standard and Sandie takes great pains with the breakfast: 5 different home-made jams, freshly squeezed orange juice and everything cooked to perfection.

Great experience from start to finish. When booking, Sandie was helpful, flexible and informative. The location was perfect for our needs. The B&B was unique and well presented. We had a very warm welcome and all facilities were perfect. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of time and effort had gone into preparation and presenting the food. From freshly squeezed juice to home made chutneys. Breakfast was delicious. If we’re ever in the area again, we’ll definitely be revisiting.

Sandie is a wonderful host. The room I had was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was very good with homemade jams, beautiful bread. The host is such an interesting and facinating person. One is only a stone's throw from the town.

Stayed here 1 night. Very friendly welcome from Sandy. Only 2 rooms and we had the double with separate private bathroom facilities. The accommodation was very clean and cosy. Only 5 min walk into Sherborne. The breakfast was delicious. Home made granola and muesli, fresh fruit. Cereals. Lovely cooked breakfast followed by toast (homemade bread) and delicious homemade preserves. Very good wifi. Would be very happy to stay here again.

We stayed here for one night as attending a funeral nearby. Very friendly welcome, warm cosy cottage, perfect for us. Delicious home cooked breakfast in the morning with all produce from the garden or local suppliers. Sandy was very kind, interesting and interested, and her dog was so sweet and friendly too! Would love to stay again for longer and to explore the area too, which has lots to offer. Highly recommended.
