12 of us enjoyed an excellent meal here on Tuesday ,our 2nd visit here. The service was very good for starters and desserts.( lovely waitress) .We chose/ collected our main course buffet style. The food was very good and there was ample choice . My cheese board was probably one of the nicest I have had. Dirty plates were swiftly removed ( a big plus ) . The bar staff were amiable and drinks were good. The lounge/ restaurant was busy but everyone seemed happy to be there. There looked a good standard of cleanliness in all Public areas and these were bright and welcoming. Look forward to returning very soon.|

This really is a “grand” old hotel. Like most hotels of this size and age it is looking quite tired in places although, overall, maintains a good “bygone age” charm. The food was averagely OK. Dinner starters and deserts are chosen from the menu and the main course from a buffet. The service was excellent with orders for food and drink arriving almost immediately. Rooms, again, a little tired but perfectly adequate. Parking facilities are reasonably sufficient. Overall, a good base from which to explore the Lake District and surrounding countryside.

We went to the hotel for afternoon tea. We have never been there before but we’re staying locally and bought this as a treat.|The greeting received from the Hotel Receptionist was lovely - she made us feel like an honoured guest! |The Bar Manager looking after the afternoon teas in the Jacobean Bar was also very professional and friendly. |The hotel public rooms we saw in our brief visit looked clean, bright and smart. The grounds are lovely ||The afternoon tea was very nice and there was plenty of food to be had with a top up of tea and coffee. ||All in all a relaxing experience in a nice setting and well worth the cost.

Clean room & comfortable bed. |Room 25 had high ceilings and enormous windows in a large room, with lovely view towards the sea. Powerful hot shower. The peacock in the garden was delightful. The location was perfect for a short walk down to the promenade and along to Grange where we enjoyed the beautiful flower beds maintained by local volunteers. We would definitely stay again. It was good value for money and remember it’s a 3 star hotel. The reception staff friendly & helpful. We didn’t eat at the hotel but would if we came again.

Honestly this hotel is brilliant. We loved it!! Very cheap so thought it wouldn’t be up to much but it is perfect. Rooms are a bit dated but very spacious and clean. There’s a lovely bar and restaurant, tennis court, play area for the kids. Staff are all really friendly too! |Honestly, it’s now our favourite in the lakes.

The hotel is not the Hilton but full of character, a lovely old building with 'huge' function rooms and restaurant area. The staff work hard and go out of their way to serve. The location is ideal for Grange and the lakes in general. If you manage to book one of their promo/deals then you are getting your stay for next at extremely good value. Our room 102 was more than spacious and spotlessly clean but bathroom needs an upgrade but still functional. The breakfast buffet was excellent but could have been hotter and the evening meal was average but nice. My only overall gripe was the bar with very limited draught lager and no cask/real local beer. Yes you could buy bottled 'Black Sheep' but the Lake District is well known for local micro brewery's etc which would be more than happy to supply the Grand. Would we return? Yes, absolutely but seriously hope that they readdress the bar products.

Had a lovely break here from Monday to Friday, dinner bed and breakfast. It was on a Spring offer so wonderful value for money. Our room on 3rd floor had a balcony and overlooked Morecombe bay. Just lovely, opening the patio door and have the sun stream in every morning, as we were so lucky with the weather. Had some lovely views of a red moon also at night. Our king size bed was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in with no sore back in the morning! Pillows and duvet were comfortable too.|The gardens were lovely and well kept, with a resident peacock, Ernie. |Dinner was a three course meal with a selection of starters served to your table then a help yourself carvery but with other choices too. Desserts again served to your table. Included help yourself to tea or coffee and a mint. We take decaffeinated and they provided it for us. Breakfast had a good choice but we found when orange juice, croissants or yoghurt had run out, it wasn’t replenished! Also, granola was never offered which is what I eat! I didn’t ask if there was any, mind you! |Rooms, corridors and dining rooms were all very clean and well kept. Place is having a refurbishment so with time it should all be fresh. |Staff were all very friendly and hard working and I felt they had a good rapport with each other and noticed some cleaners lending a hand to each other. I think this creates a nice atmosphere for guests. |Would definitely recommend. Would love to come back. A very enjoyable stay thank you!|PS we found on exiting the hotel by car or foot, it’s very dangerous as it’s on a bend and cars come whizzing round the corner at break neck speed! I wonder if a huge mirror would help navigate this!

Booked afternoon tea for 4 and was not disappointed. Freshly made sandwiches, delicious homemade scones and a divine assortment of sweet treats garnished with fresh fruit. A hot plate of savoury bites was a nice surprise. Our afternoon tea included a glass of fizz each. Staff were attentive and did all that they could to make us happy. We will definitely be returning.
