Stayed here as was only option available did to short notice business trip. Location is good, great setting with a nice beer garden and on the canal . Check in was smooth and seamless. I was given a room in the ground floor, not much privacy when you go into the room as there is only curtains so everyone could see in from the beer garden. Blinds /nets wouldn't go a miss in the ground floor rooms. The room itself was ok. Tv could have been bigger. Bed was below average could feel the springs. And pillows on the thin side, lucky I was alone so could use them all. Food was a good offering but over priced as most items were 241. Which if you have someone to eat with then is not bad for the money. Bit definitely not £18 for a burger. I did sleep ok. The breakfast offering was good, but the scramble egg didn't look good at all. I did pass on that item. Overall I wouldn't not stay again, but would be at least 3rd choice currently

A clean and comfortable hotel for the night...a bit tatty in places but perfectly fine for a night or 2. The restaurant/pub on site was exceptional...food was delicious and great value (2 for 1) I would recommend ear plugs as the road out the front can be noisy and we could hear the people moving around in the room above us. Nothing too loud but a bit annoying

Don't know how to put this other than.... disgusting all round. Staff lovely, bedrooms and breakfast shocking. |Stayed in room number 1, if offered this refuse.... in fact don't go there. |Mattresses need putting in a skip, springs poking through all over and that was all 3 single beds. Door latch very loose , someone could easily break in. Bathroom , wow, rust on shelf holders, sheets of paint hanging from ceiling, shower was falling apart, scolding hot, couldn't get to lower the temp, had to get a member of staff to come and sort it . Had to get a member of staff to get us extra duvets so we could lie on them to help stop the springs from digging in, no way vould we sleep on these beds like this. Paint chipped off down corner of walls, walls marked all over, carpets filthy and I mean filthy. Decor which obviously you could put up with, was shocking , very dated. Breakfast was dried out cheap bacon which tasted greasy and sorry, " piggy ".... sausages , yuck scrambled egg was NOT light and fluffy , baked firm with a firm textured skin on top, beans were cold. Not a hearty breakfast to set you up for the the day. .|The price we paid for this triple room was almost the same as what we paid for the following nights stay at the wedding venue of Moxhull hall, which was a wonderful experience all round. There was no comparison really , I am shocked and disgusted at this room even being let out, then rhe price on top , stay clear folks, worst experience ever, staff were embarrassed by the room . Shut the place down revamp before opening, change your food supplier and warming facilities. Absoloutly terrible experience.

The room wasn't clean, the most uncomfortable bed I've ever experienced in a hotel. Shabby bathroom. |The receptionist is not welcoming at all.|No soundproof whatsoever. Every floorboard creaks.|Paid twenty-five pounds for two very basic breakfasts.|Only sachet coffee on offer, never seen chopped tomatoes on offer for breakfast.

Please avoid this hotel at all costs. The room can only be described as wants condemning. Room 50 or cupboard 50 was disgusting the smell of bleach to avoid smelling anything else was overwhelming mould all over bathroom ceiling shower door hanging off , carpet was sticky god knows from what , pubic hairs on towels , god knows what the stains on sheets were. On going straight downstairs for refund was told they couldn’t do it without area managers ok |So we left booking to great expense to ourselves somewhere else at short notice the receptionist was very embarrassed as I feel this is a regular occurrence. A week later still trying after being refused refund or partial refund even, being fobbed of by Jack general manager who’s not got best customer service skills probably because again he used to complaints and not authorised to do anything so he’s not a real manager just his title so I’m not holding out for any resolutions. Please don’t stay here if there is any other option take it

Just checked in. Booked through booking com. Appalling room. All pictures on booking indicates a bath. Our room only has a shower & reception wanted 40 pounds to change to a room with a bath . Decor awful - dated. Paint flaking off walls in bedroom & bathroom . Carpet has iron burn. Bed is cheap, lumpy & like something out of 60's. Everything about the reception, corridors & rooms is disgraceful. Looks like it hasn't had a kick of paint for years. DO NOT RELY ON THE PICS ON WEBSITES!!!! You've been warned !!?!!

We decided to come here for breakfast to make a change from a Toby Carvery breakfast but honestly wish we had have done. The person who took my payment on arrival wasn't the friendliest. The breakfast buffet seemed as if it had been stood for quite a while, beans were cold and other items were overcooked. Our visit was about 10.30am bur at a out 10.45 we were informed that the hot food was being taken away, despite the fact that at the time of our visit the website said breakfast was until 11.30, and despite the fact other people had arrived for breakfast. We have been here in the past and everything has been amazing, but on this occasion it was a little bit below par
