Such a relaxing weekend. We had the perfect time exploring the surrounding walks and villages. The cabins are amazing. The sense of seclusion enabled us to completely switch off and, after a day of walking,

the hot tub was sublime! The cabin is kitted out with just what we needed and the finished to a high standard. We loved all the little touches, especially how dog friendly the set up is. We would absolutely recommend Cynefin Retreats to anyone looking to recharge and connect with nature.

I can highly recommend this place if you want to relax in a luxurious pod or lodge. We stayed in a beautifully fitted out and equipped Luxe Lodge for 2 nights, and will definitely stay here again. Wonderfully, and thoughtfully presented and in a beautiful setting. This place has everything you need.

Fantastic lodges, great facilities inside and out, lots of parking including an electric car charger.
8-9 minute drive to Hay-on-Wye.
Dog friendly, WiFi, hot tub, log burner (extra logs/kindling available), loads of consumable extras (teas, marshmallows etc), underfloor heating and loads of home accessories like an iron and dish washer etc.

We loved the pod and the amenities.
The Internet connection for evening film watching was rather slow/temperamental but otherwise it was really lovely. The set up is simple but clever and beautiful. The hot tub and firepit allowed us to enjoy more time outside in the cold weather, which was perfect for the unpredictable March weather.

The little forest walk is so cute and nicely curated too, I hope I can come back to enjoy it in warmer weather.

An amazing stay at Cynefin in December 2024. Despite the weather we relaxed in the hot tub, cosied up by the wood burner and cooked dinner over the fire pit. An amazing “away from it all” retreat without surrendering any luxuries. We were surprised there was no TV but this quickly became part of the charm- a chance to disconnect from life and come together. Wonderful that it is dog friendly so the whole family can enjoy.

Really lovely place to spend a weekend. Close to Hay on Wye and only 10
Min walk from river. Very well equipped, comfortable beds and linen.
This is on working cattle farm, on a hot summer weekend there were a few flies and other insects around, not enough to bother me but visitors need to accept you are in the country.

Great venue, but disappointed with the cleanliness of the property (dirty Windows. stains on kitchen seats) given the price and most disappointing was the hot tub wasn't at a usable temperature for the first 24 hours of the stay. As it was for a 40th Bday surprise, this really took the shine off what was meant to be a magical stay.
