What a fantastic hotel. Right on the quayside with great rooms and fantastic service.

The rooms are so nicely appointed with great furnishings and an excellent bathroom and shower.

Service was brilliant, everyone so friendly and helpful.

Bar prices for food and drink a little on the high side and it’s a bit of a walk to the car park around the back of the hotel.

Don’t worry about trying to pay for the car park in the car park with the QR code or machine, you can pay at the hotel. This isn’t mentioned when in the car park.

I organised a group booking of a collection of room for my wedding including one of the grand deluxe suites. And all I can say is WOW. The Dakota Newcastle is absolutely stunning, the decor is luxe and absolutely beautifully curated. All of the staff, especially the head of maintenance and Megan, the head of reception, went above and beyond to ensure we had the most incredible stay. Each staff member we’ve encountered have been incredibly attentive and gracious, it really has been the best hotel stay of my life.

We also ate Sunday Lunch in the restaurant served by the awesome Sinead and I’ll be dreaming about that cauliflower cheese for a long time. I would highly recommend staying at the Dakota, and look forward to returning. ❤️

From start to finish, the service was absolutely outstanding. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, attentive, and clearly took pride in what they do. The attention to detail across the hotel really stood out.

Our room was spotless, stylish, and finished to a very high standard. Room service was great too — the food arrived on time, was piping hot, and served by polite staff.

A special shout-out to Ovi, who looked after us at breakfast — incredibly polite, knowledgeable, and couldn’t have been more helpful.

The concierge team were always on point and ready to assist, and the reception staff were consistently smiling and welcoming, making us feel right at home.

Overall, Dakota Newcastle exceeded expectations in every way. We’ll definitely be returning!

Plush, perfectly supportive, and impossible to leave in the morning. The Molton Brown toiletries added a fragrant touch of indulgence, elevating the experience even further.

What truly sets Dakota apart, though, is the staff. Friendly, attentive, and effortlessly professional, they made us feel genuinely cared for without ever being overbearing. Whether it was a quick chat at reception or a thoughtful gesture in the room, their warmth was a standout.

The location is splendid. The hotel was so clean and tidy with spacious room. I went in the bathroom near the reception and was blown away. The smell was amazing! I have never sniffed so much in a bathroom before. The smell was so tropical, like passion fruit/ carribbean vacation. The staff were lovely as well and the meals were delicious 😋. Highly recommend! 👌

A very disappointing visit. We travelled a long way to meet our son for a Xmas meal with other family members. The hotel receptionist was unwelcoming and almost rude. We were not made to feel welcome at reception or restaurant reception. Either we were an inconvenience or the staff training is appalling. On the plus side the waitress who served our special lunch was lovely. A great idea might be to take your staff to a McDonalds drive through and show them how welcoming staff should be.

Visited this restaurant recently and it was a real treat. The menu had something for everyone, and every dish I tried was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The staff were attentive and friendly, making me feel comfortable throughout my meal. The ambiance was relaxed and charming, making it a perfect place to enjoy a nice meal. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for good food and great service.

Great stay , lovely rooms , breakfast good , mixed dining experience tables too small to accommodate meals and drinks. Out table was furthest from window tacked on end and staff guests kept walking past at intervals so it didn't feel private. The fridge in room wasn't consistently filled. On second night noted no wine in complimentary fridge.
