Honestly this is the best B and B we have ever stayed in. Everything was IMMACULATE and so well thought out. Nothing overlooked. Great pillows, deep bath, fantastically peaceful. Wonderful breakfast. Owner is delightful. It is set in gorgeous surroundings with a fabulous garden which sadly it was too wet to explore. |Close to great places to eat . No noise but birdsong. I want to live there! For me it was absolute perfection.

Excellent host in a beautiful location, excellent breakfast. Large and comfortable bed with superb window seat over looking the front garden. Beautiful views of the large back garden too. Could not fault it one bit . We will definitely be back, thank you for a wonderful stay.

My partner and I stayed here for a couple of days as a spontaneous, short break. ||We chose to stay here as opposed to the centre of Newcastle and were absolutely not disappointed.||Location is fab, so quiet and relaxing.|The house is stunning, room was lovely, with large bed and comfy pillows.|The host Diana is very welcoming and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Diana was also keen to share ideas about places to visit/restaurants etc.|Breakfast was fab and there are plenty of places to eat in a nearby village.||All in all, a lovely stay and we will absolutely keep this place in mind, should we require accommodation in the area in future.

Taken here a part of my birthday treat. Lovely Old-fashioned room - enormous and very comfortable. Bathroom also large (good shower although you have to climb over a fairly high bath rim to get in).
Excellent continental breakfast with local produce and homemade jam. Great welcome from our hostess.
This, I guess, must have been the old village Manor House. Only quibble would be the lack of double glazing (are they a listed building?) - caused us no issues however.

Absolutely fabulous stay at Dalton House. Couldn't fault a single thing. Diana was a lovely host and we even met sparky the Jack Russell! The room and bathroom were beautiful and very comfortable. We looked forward to the breakfast every morning which contained cereal, toast, fruit, Yoghurt and pastries, was absolutely delicious! Will definitely endeavour to go back and highly recommend to anyone.

Stayed here after an afternoon tea at Matfen Hall and a few hours shopping in Corbridge.
What a great find. The best B&B we've ever stayed in. A very warm welcome being shown to an excellent huge, warm comfortable room.
The breakfast had it all. Definitely no corners cut her. We will return.

If you don't mind dogs and a continental breakfast then it's a good choice. The shared bathroom is not ideal as a on suite and a hall door combines bathroom. Quiet B road farmhouse building nice for fresh air walks. Very friendly hoastess. 15 minutes from Newcastle Town centre.

This review was originally posted on my blog. If you've enjoyed it or found it helpful, why not check the blog out.||We were in Newcastle for a wedding. Our original choice of a generic brand of hotel was further away from the reception than we wanted and so I looked again, trying to see if we could find something a little nearer.||I came across Dalton House and since it looked nice, the reviews were good and it was only about 4 miles from the reception venue, I changed our booking and I'm so glad I did.||I received a really helpful email on booking which gave directions to Dalton House. It's set back from the road and if you aren't sure where you are going, you could well miss the turning.||Our welcome when we arrived was really friendly and we were shown into the B&B. We passed through the sitting / breakfast room before being shown up to our rooms.||The rooms were nicely decorated, both having an ensuite bathroom (with really powerful showers and clean towels) and a view over the garden.||There are kettles in both rooms and we were also welcomed with a slice a lemon drizzle cake. Nothing better after a long drive. There is also internet access with the WiFi code printed in the welcome pack.||The beds are really comfy and with the location of the house being set back from the road and the rooms being at the back of the house, we all slept really soundly.||The breakfast was fantastic, with a choice of cereal, fresh fruit, brioche, bread and yoghurt as well as bacon and eggs.||It would have been lovely to have another night to be able to take advantage of the log burner in the lounge but we had to head off.||The owner, Diane, is so welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and she made us feel so at home.||Without a shadow of a doubt, we hope to return here to take in some Northumbrian scenery and enjoy another stay.
