We spent three nights at Dannah last weekend. I have read many of the|wonderful reviews of this "luxury" bed and breakfast but find, regrettably, that I can not agree with all of the glowing remarks. Whilst the owner (only ever saw the lady)|and her staff were extremely pleasant and helpful we found some strange|anomalies in the facilities of the actual accommodation.|My daughter/son in law and my son shared the two bedroom, one shower room|Sycamore suite whilst my partner and I had the one bedroom/two bathroom/|kitchenette suite. The Granary was fine, large bedroom, two large bathrooms both with very good baths and separate showers (although it was impossible to "mix" the|hot and cold water in the downstairs basin). There was a well stocked kitchenette |and dining area on the lower floor with a fridge, sink and cabinets perfect for|eating in. Be warned however, the Granary is NOT ideal for those that have difficulty|with stairs. Two very steep stairways have to be negotiated to make full use of|the facilities.|The Sycamore suite was a totally different proposition. This accommodation has, obviously been designed for family occupation. However there is only ONE small|bathroom with a peculiar shower. There is NO equivalent kitchenette merely|a cupboard with a fridge and NO sink to wash up in. Although this room has|a dining table that can seat six it is NOT conducive to eating in with no washing|up facility except in the bathroom basin. The lounge seating area is also very|cramped. One wonders why the "family" room is The Sycamore when the|Granary, with only one bedroom, has all the family facilities?|There was plenty of choice for breakfast including a good, old fashioned cooked offering, the linen and towels (of which there were plenty) were very good and the|hot tubs enthusiastically used by my family (if not by me).|The other main gripe about Dannah is the lighting!! The lighting is so bad that it|is practically impossible to read in bed, the dining area is dark and dreary|and the lighting outside at night inadequate. All the lighting was with old fashioned|low wattage globes, especially in The Granary where my partner found it almost|impossible to do her make-up even in the morning.|The whole place is actually crammed with bits and pieces of furniture and bric a brac as if the owners had attended every auction and car boot sale in Derbyshire and beyond. The numerous lamps and wall fittings, whilst cute and "atmospheric,"|did nothing to make the place cheerful, quite the opposite in fact.|All in all a pleasant stay.......would I recommend it? I have to say no.||Latter and family.|Sept 19th to sept 22nd.

Just wow. What a wonderful place. Three friends had the best time at this stunning location. The owners are super friendly as are the farm cats! The accommodation in the Sycamore suite was cosy with excellent facilities and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is probably one of the best I've ever had. I have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful oasis of calm.

Beautiful place to spend a few nights in. There isn’t much around as expected but the area is lovely we stayed a night whilst travelling up north and the rooms were cosy with a beautiful back garden and hot tub as well as indoor sauna. Enjoyed it very much and the breakfast was lovely too. The lady who showed us around was very polite made us feel welcome.

We’ve travelled all over the world and didn’t realise that this and Joan’s hospitality was right here on our doorstep.|We were met by the owner Joan who was so lovely, kind and unassuming|She offered us freshy brewed coffee that was brought to our studio|The studio hideaway was gorgeous, clean and dust free.|Fully stocked bar and fridge, real attention to detail complimentary bottled water and snacks.|Amazing breakfast we had fruit and the full English .|The hot tub was clean and well maintained Joan gave us a demo of how to operate it safely.|We had a lovely walk through the grounds and a great local meal at Armandos.|We’ve told all our friends and family about it. Only sad thing is we wished we’d known about this gem sooner

A luxury break that goes above and beyond any other. wonderful attention to everything you could possibly need. Need more than one night to appreciate all that is on offer. Absolutely first class. Just the relaxing luxury break needed. Has to be one of the best places in the UK.

This is by far one of the best retreats with private hot tub that I have visited.|The attention to finer details is exquisite throughout the property. Stayed in the The Hay Loft and this room has lots of nice touches that you will discover during your stay, and make you think wow!|The decor is romantic, the furniture very nice and comfortable, the bed amazing, the pillows the most comfortable I have ever laid my head.|The walk in shower and huge stand-alone bath in the main bathroom add to the luxury. |Outside and downstairs to the The Hay Loft’s private area, wow again. The private hot tub and garden area are very spacious which is supported by the fantastic little lodge, that has its own bar, seating area, tea and coffe making facilities, board games, TV, toilet with walk in shower room, private sauna.|You are also provided with slippers and robes for the main room and downstairs robes for the lodge and outdoor space.|The full English breakfast is all made up of locally sourced produce, and was cooked to perfection.|Dannah farm is located in a remote very peaceful area, with many birds and wildlife around.|I cannot wait to visit again to stay at The Granary room opposite The Hay Loft. I was given the opportunity of a sneak peak before checking out and OMG! I look forward to staying there.||The staff are very helpful and attentive. Be sure to try the apple juice with the full English including delicious black pudding if you can.

We stayed in the Granery suit. It was stunning, simply beautiful. The decor, attention to detail, style. The shower, the bath and hot tub gave us so much to do and enjoy. Wow the bed... So comfortable! We relaxed every minute. To the host... So very lovely, made us feel so welcome and we enjoyed meeting her. The breakfast was to die for, if I could eat that every day I would be happy for the rest of my life ? I couldn't recommend this place more... We we be back very soon!
