We have just returned from a night away, it was exactly what we needed to just be able to switch off and relax. The tents were lovely and cozy (it was -4 outside) and with the heating in the tent it was lovely and warm. The bed was so comfy. We had a lovely clear night so the view above was amazing the stars were absolutely stunning. The facilities were lovely and clean and had everything we needed... we can't wait to come back.

What a fantastic little glamping site, owner greeted us and showed us to our tent. Inside was beautiful and very spacious, it had vases of fresh red roses. The bed was very comfortable with good quality bedding. There was a little play area for kids which was a nice touch. The toilets and showers were kept very clean. We paid extra for the kindling and had a nice little fire and toasted marshmallows 100% coming back in the summer. Thank You for a lovely stay.

I am absolutely bamboozled by the negative reviews on here. We received a lovely welcome by kirsty then shown to our tent. Inside was absolutely beautiful 😍 A lovely big double bed, lovely furnishings and a heater to keep the place toasty warm. A perfect place to sit by the fire with a few drinks and gaze at the stars. Highly recommend 👌

We stayed in Hydra as a family of 4 and found it to be spacious, cozy and surprisingly warm! There was an electric fire which provided so much heat it only stayed on for minutes. Beds were comfy, facilities were modern and clean. We used the firepit to toast marshmallows and were lucky enough to see a huge amount of stars in the sky! Lovely communal kitchen which we didn't use but visited, and a nice selection of play toys, board games and books. Overall, pleasantly surprised and impressed. I would say ignore the negative reviews and try it.

I booked for a birthday night. I emailed to say that I was worried about the reviews on here. The lady emailed back and said the the bad reviews were not true and was not writing nice things about those guests. I thought I will give it a go anyway. I booked the fire wood and gourmet marshmallows. On the morning of the day we done all the shopping for food. I checked my emails when we were near to find out where to park and I seen the email saying "so sorry the delivery for the marshmallows hasn't arrived and we will refund the £25 ASAP ". When we arrived it was raining, the bucket with fire wood was outside with a lighter on top. Obviously everything was wet and taken ages to get a fire going, by the time it was acceptable it was around 8pm. Inside the tent was so dirty with cobwebs all over the flowers wrapped around the pole. I know the lady said that it is not a hotel but cmon it could be clean. The battery-operated lamps were all not working apart from one and was more like a disco light, not staying on. We are not going to mention the cleanliness of the bed :(. There was no bins to put all the rubbish in, which should have been a big red one in the car park. Other people staying couldn't find it either. The toilets/showers looked nice but again not very clean. There was rubbish everywhere by the barn from the last wedding they had there in June. The lady said that it doesn't belong to them but the farmer which seems incorrect. It just is such a shame as it looks like they are not looking after the site at all. After we arrived home I had to chase my refund for over a week.

We had such high hopes and it just didn’t meet expectations unfortunately. The tent itself was cosy and clean, spacious enough for the four of us and the bed was super comfy. When we arrived our neighbours had been talking about how cold the showers were, we didn’t think anything of it until the morning. There was literally no hot water our whole stay, the showers were ice cold as were the taps even trying to wash your face was so cold. I messaged on FB & they said they would update me later on, I didn’t get an update until 3am the following day, it still wasn’t fixed in time for us leaving. We got an apology but that was it, no offer of a partial refund/money off which I find disappointing when I had two young kids and this wasn’t a cheap weekend by any means. The shower area looks modern but I didn’t find it clean unfortunately, I don’t know if that was just the guests who were using it too but a couple of the toilets were disgusting with urine all over seats and floor as well as stones all over floor looked liked kids had been throwing them about. I didn’t see any staff cleaning in the three days I was there which I’m not used too, everywhere else I’ve stayed the toilets are usually cleaned daily. There is a small hut that has some crockery etc. to use but there seemed to be a lot of dirty dishes sitting and no one had cleaned them, but there was no hot water to be fair. I had taken most of my own crockery/plates etc and I’m glad as I didn’t find it clean. Please bare in mind if your in a tent up near the pet hotel end we experienced the dogs barking from about 5am both mornings. I found the book shelve run down and half the games are missing or ruined from being left out in all weathers. My kids enjoyed the tractors, little houses and they made friends so they had a ball playing in a safe environment. Would I stay again? I’m not sure I would after the experience with no hot water, I wouldn’t describe it as glamping either it’s pretty basic. Great location though we had a lovely time exploring the local area.

This was our first time taking our little girl on a glamping trip and we are so disappointed. We arrived and left within 20 minutes. We couldn't find our way in, got followed by a sketchy sheepdog, forcing us to carry our little girl and our own dog. The grass was so long and the lady said the rain meant it hadn't been able to be cut, but there was no reason why it couldn't have been strimmed. The tent was more than basic, despite not opting for the basic yurt and it was soaking wet. Our soaks were soaked through as soon as we entered because the rugs were saturated and had been thrown down to cover the wet. There were puddles of water around the feet of the bed. The outdoor seating and things were battered and the kids 'play things' weren't great either. My husband told Kirsty that we were leaving and she said she'd dry the tent, but that wasn't the only issue. We have been so patient with them, but have resorted to Trip Advisor as we're now 4 months down the line and we can't get a reply or a refund, after several emails and FB messages. We paid £250 for two nights and stepped in and out of the tent within minutes, we're entitled to a full refund, especially since we aren't able to take our little one anywhere else now. I'd strongly advise people to think twice before booking to stay here, unless it's wild camping and not glamping, that you're going for.

What a mess! We booked 2 nights for £240 and left after a couple of hours. Really disappointing after my partner had taken time off work and we had been looking forward to our first family holiday with our baby daughter and dog. ||The site and tents look nothing like the website pictures and are super run down and squashed together. We were greeted by an overflowing industrial bin and our tent was literally filthy, with a collapsed bed and mattress that looked and felt like it had been found at the side of the road (I peeled back the sheets - it was disgusting) . The whole place just looked really tired and run down, with tacky faded plastic flowers and battered furnishings and decor - certainly not the glamping experience we imagined. ||Our tent had a hole in which was literally covered up badly by a human plaster that was falling off (?!) , had filthy rugs and blankets with actual food trodden into them, plus every bbq was completely broken and full of old coals. No hot water in either the kitchen or showers (which were also filthy despite there only being 1 other family there), and the kitchen area was filthy.||I contacted Kirsty and she immediately came to change the rugs (she was very nice and apologetic), but as more problems arose and I contacted her again, she offered a refund rather than us staying, which we took. I had to message her a further few times to get the refund and she said that she's on site all day therefore only replies in the evening, which I found strange as the whole site is so run down. ||I can't stress enough how ridiculous it was! It would take such a small amount of effort from the owner to make it better, starting with a really good clean and replacing broken items. I really never write reviews but just had to as this was such a waste of precious holiday time and it's just not acceptable to mislead people like this.
