I thought I'd give this place a second chance. I stayed here previously and complained about the cleanliness (it hasn't improved) and over priced rooms, honestly £130 and it wasn't even an ensuite room we had some makeshift area for personal care. Creaky and draughty windows and staff who clearly couldn't care less about customer service. The dining choices were also poor the only positive was the decor in the restaurant. Honestly I believe you would have a better experience and value for money in a travel lodge or premier inn.

Stayed here for the Bedford Summer Sessions for two nights. We had a great stay, our room was very spacious and the facilities were fantastic. Our booking did not come with breakfast but there was food in the dining area that was part of the package. Cereal, bread and fruit available for us. We were met and given a breakdown of great places to eat, and how far the town centre was. The room had a kettle, and tea and coffee. A lovely comfortable bed, with air conditioning in the room too. There is a small amount of parking on the front of the property.|I would highly recommend!!

We had a meal in the restaurant and were shocked by the price of the wine (£25 for two glasses) and by the lack of choice on the menu (choice of half a dozen mains only)||The food was below average for the price as well and did not reflect the menu. We felt utterly disappointed and ripped off tbh 🥲||We won’t be going back sadly as it’s gone down hill!

We had room 1 on the ground floor. Something I would not recommend. The shower looked like it had recently been installed and was great. The very large bed was in the bay window with the radiator behind. It was so big that there was no room for bedside tables or lights. It is a long time since I have had to get out of bed to turn off the light. No hand towel in the bath room and no bath mat. No milk for tea. We did pick some up from the breakfast room across the hall. A light flashed all night from a recently installed air conditioner. No remote to turn it off. When I mentioned it the next day the response was it should have been turned off but obviously I was a light sleeper. Breakfast was help yourself to cereals and toast. No water in the kettle we had to fill it in our room. Then the state of the table and the dirty dishes put us off. We had a quick bowl of cereals and left. Poor value and very disappointing.

We were very pleased with our stay at the De Parys Guest House. The room was extremely spacious with a Super king-size bed that was very comfortable. The ensuite was clean, although a tap was loose. The continental breakfast offered plenty of choice but we did need to request fresh cutlery and plates, as previous diners had used all that was available.

We had a one night stay and it’s was a stunning rustic room with a beautiful roll top bath tub,the bed was very comfortable and all kept lovely and clean.||The room had some wonderful home touches such as plenty of tea,coffee even hot chocolate (massive bonus for a non tea drinker such as myself) on offer with added biscuits.||We booked a table to eat in the evening the food was delicious and the staff were very attentive nothing was too much trouble.||We went out for the evening and on returning had a last drink in the bar which again was very welcoming and pleasant surroundings.||We had a very comfortable sleep only slight grumble was it was rather noisy in the morning however this was stated on the booking and you can book other rooms further away from the main area.||Would highly recommend a stay here and would certainly stay again.

Ideal for a short stay in the centre of Bedford, easy access to the river and lovely riverside walks.
Loved that it was run by the owners and their two dogs, very homely.
Such a coincidence that the owners have a holiday home which is not far from where we live.
Hope one day we'll meet up around the pool in the sunshine on the paradise island of Cyprus.
