I had a wonderful experience staying at the Delta Hotel in Durham! The hotel is in a prime location, just across the bridge from the city center, making it easy to explore all that Durham has to offer. The scenic views and proximity to downtown were definitely highlights of the stay.||One of the best parts of our visit was the daily breakfast. The all-you-can-eat spread was fantastic, with plenty of hot and cold options to suit every taste. The variety was impressive, and it made for a great start to each day.||The hotel also offers plenty of parking, which was a big plus, as it made coming and going from the hotel hassle-free. Our suite was spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay. The room was clean, well-appointed, and perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing.||Overall, I highly recommend Delta Hotel Durham for anyone visiting the area. The combination of great location, excellent breakfast, spacious rooms, and ample parking made it a memorable stay. I’ll definitely be back!

We had a clean, quiet spacious room with good storage space. The room had a few dated features, but nothing that impacted our stay.

The staff are extremely helpful and the bar staff were quick and efficient.

We booked two deluxe rooms and were not disappointed with our stay at this conveniently located hotel. Parking is easy to find and plentiful, the rooms were well equipped and comfortable most importantly the people are second to none. Stuart on your reception desk was so friendly and kind. We wouldn’t hesitate to book in again.

Our stay was very good. Very centrally located so could walk to restaurants, Cathedral and market. Reception staff and dining room staff extremely helpful. The only fault I found was that no one came to make the bed or replenish the tea/coffee, milk and sugar supplies in the room. Kept having to ask reception for supplies and they were most accommodating. I would stay at this hotel again.

Room was lovely it was very spacious and very clean.Lovely big bathroom with bathrobes slippers .It had a coffee machine and a fridge everything you could need. The bed was massive and very comfortable great nights sleep. Also it was a birthday and there was a lovely cake in the room as a welcoming gift the room had been upgraded also which I thought was a lovely gesture.||Most of the staff were lovely and very helpful but…||We had booked half board and when we went for our evening meal were the only ones.We ordered and then were told unfortunately there had been a mix up and had to order from a separate menu.We said ok and then were told we could have what we ordered. It was a bit embarrassing .Anyway to cut a long story short it was awful.Frozen food reheated basically. The sweet was the best joke and it was that bad it was inedible.Went to pay for drinks no one to be seen.Went to the desk to complain and while walking there was chased by a member of staff shouting to come back and pay for the drinks.I’ve never been more embarrassed.||To be fair the man on the desk was great and did offer for us to go back and have something else(we declined)Unfortunately I couldn’t be refunded as I booked through booking.com.||It’s a lovely hotel that I’ve stayed at before without any problems I’d stay again but definitely wouldn’t eat here.

This is a classic old building with annex which requires a qualification in map reading to find rooms! However, see the funny side, laugh with maids and just enjoy it. Restful decor, room control for heat levels, lots of hot water, very comfy bed. Staff are very good with northern sense of humour. Let down by breakfast which had been on warmers for a long time... didn't get there until 9.15.
Would return as perfect location for centre, providing the council grits Elvet Bridge!!!

DO NOT STAY HERE – Terrible Management & Unjust TreatmentI had a horrible experience at Delta Hotels Durham Royal County and strongly advise against staying here.- Serious booking issues: The hotel’s system incorrectly recorded our reservation, causing major confusion at check-in.- Wrongful detainment: At check-out, the staff falsely claimed we hadn’t paid for all nights, refused to accept proof of payment, and detained my family members until Trip.com had to intervene.- Rude and unprofessional staff: The hotel staff were dismissive, refused to listen, and showed no concern for our distress.- Financial & emotional damage: Due to their incompetence, we missed our train, lost valuable belongings, and suffered immense stress.- No apology, no accountability: Even after their mistake was confirmed, the hotel never apologized or took responsibility. This was the worst hotel experience of my life. If you value peace of mind and fair treatment, DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!

just got back from a short Christmas break. Room was a good large size but very disappointed with the heating. The room was cold on arrival. We turned the heating up but very little heat seemed to be coming out of the blowers. We spoke to reception on the was out in the evening. When we arrived back we were told we had turned it up too high and they had turned it down and that hot air was now blowing out. The receptionist did not really seem to care and was not very friendly. When we got back to the room the heating said it was off and the temperature was 18.5. Everytime we arrived back to the room the heating had turned itself off and the room was cold. There was no heating in the bathroom at all. No towel rail. We were asked on arrival if we wanted daily room cleaning. We said no as that was the answer that seemed to be wanted, but as there were no radiators or heated towel rail the towels did not dry each day and we had to shower with damp towels. The hairdryer in the room kept cutting out and the socket the fridge was plugged into did not work. The hotel was an excellent location with plenty of parking which made life easy when we had been out each day. Breakfast was OK but overpriced for what it was. Cheap sausages and a lack of decent bread rolls but it did the job. Overall good location, parking but very disappointed with the heating.
