Very nice hotel, definitely an older hotel you can see it's ages but it's still very clean and very nice. Comfortable beds, big rooms. The showers are not great however the water pressure is poor and they kept going hot/cold, as someone who is 6'1 they could be higher up too. The pool facilities were good, would have liked the pool to be a little warmer however. The lifts in the main lobby take an age to be called to the ground floor too that was slightly annoying. Still had a great time and would recommend.

Booked here late 2024 on a trip to visit a friend. 2 adults, one baby. Last time was good enough to make me book again πŸ™‚

However, this time, the rooms weren't to the same standard. We changed rooms twice as there were cleanliness issues with the first two rooms. Thankfully, the manager found a good one for us so that we didn't have to change again and offered us free breakfast and drinks as a consolation.
Service, very good - all staff very friendly πŸ™‚
Location very convenient if you have a car. Close to MetroCentre for shops and food, close the majority roads, close enough to Newcastle.

Beds comfy as they have toppers, but I suspect mattresses could be replaced. Queen room (2 double beds) very spacious. Sound travels though, so our baby's sound machine was handy! Great that there's a pool and gym! Breakfast was decent! πŸ˜€

Really lovely hotel. Great price. The deluxe room was well worth more than what we paid. Staff all really friendly and helpful. Breakfast worth the money. The only slight negatives was a gratuity automatically added on the evening meal bill. I know you can ask for this to be taken off but I'd rather not face the awkwardness of having to do that. I know a lot of restaurants do this now. It was also quite cold in the restaurant when we had our evening meal. The bed was two beds put together so it went down a bit in the middle. Having said both of these things we would definitely stay here again. The positives far outweighed the slight negatives.

At check-in the front desk asked for our names, then tried to confirm a two room booking. Nope- one room, two beds. Do you want our confirmation number? Not at all, she doesn't need it. She proceeded to argue that Expedia had duplicated our booking so we would need to check with them about charges- despite the fact that I pulled up our banking app and have no extra charges. She was adamant that she couldn't cancel anything on her end- which is fine, but this seems to be something between your two systems and not me at all.

Mold in the shower, all bathroom fixtures as old as time, no stamps at the counter, had to pick up room service bc the app wasn't working...overheard the front desk explaining to someone ELSE that their booking was messed up through Expedia which makes me think it's not the customer and no amount of customer service jargon is going to soften the implication that we customers are doing this wrong.

Kitchen staff was above and beyond helpful though- we have a nut allergy and they were nothing but accommodating, even cooked an entire plate of fresh toast and eggs, then offered to make pancakes.

Right next to lots of shopping, but some know-how is required to cross the streets and find the right sidewalks.

Bathroom: 5/10. It's there. It's functional.

I'm a member of the Marriott Delta Gym Gateshead. Gym is well equipped but around the pool is dirty, rattan seats and sunbeds are covered with mold on the sides. in the shower there is no gel for washing the body. The cleaner is there every day but very rarely adds a gel for washing the body in dispensers. floors in the pool area wash with towels for guests. So how do I use their towel feels like I'm rubbing a mop

The hotel was extremely comfortable with good facilities including pool sauna etc. staff were excellent. Very friendly and professional. Good choices were good with first class portion sizes and short waiting times from ordering. I would definitely go back

Absolutely the worst Marriott hotel. Rooms are dirty, housekeeping doesn’t show up, food is terrible, showering you have to press yourself up against the wall to catch what little pressure there is and it smells like mold and is nasty. Oh and good luck the lift is broken so you have to wait forever for the single one working. Go elsewhere this is a 3 star hotel tops and that’s pushing it.

I'm staying at this hotel regularly for work commitments in Newcastle.
It's a decent hotel and the staff are generally very good.
The only small complaint I have is that the restaurant menu is very limited in choice, but that's only because I have spent 50+ nights there since April, so it gets repetitive eating the same things.
That being said the food is good and the breakfast is excellent with plenty of variety and choice.
