Our stay at Dockside Lodge was very disappointing and frustrating.
We arrived in a very industrial area and was welcomed by a bag of poo near the entrance to the lodge.
We were warned the entrance door handle was "temperamental " but no further instructions were given on how to open the door.
We put in the code in the key pad but the door handle didn't release to let us in. We tried again and again. For at least 20 minutes if not longer.
We contacted the out of hours phone line on WhatsApp to no response initially so we felt stuck in a place that didn't feel safe to be .
The door finally opened after many attempts and we received a message that maintenance would be sent . There wasn't any apology for the delay or acknowledgement that the door handle is not working sufficiently.
We were uncertain whether we could really risk leaving the property unless we could work out the door mechanism.
We attempted this again and again ,giving it numerous chances with one of us inside the lodge but still the door seemed to open at random, so it wasn't fit for purpose and could be a safety risk
With this in mind, my boyfriend and I decided we had to forgo our evening plans which included losing out on a booking.
And we would try contacting the lodge and the booking agency Booking.com
This took over three hours, speaking to three different booking.com agents who polite as they were; didn't really know what to say or do about our issue.
We were offered a £15 refund if we canceled the second night of our stay which seemed paltry .
We decided after the first night that it wasn't worth the risk of going out to our booked event for the second day as we didn't know for certain when or if the door would operate and by the time we left the property, no maintenance team had arrived and no further message was received from the Lodge or Booking.com so we felt very let down by the customer service unfortunately.
The main principles of customer safety seemed not to be heeded.
And to pay what we did for our reservation and not have an accessible entry to the property is like daylight robbery. Its a basic thing that could have been fixed before.
So I would definitely not recommend staying in the Dockside Lodge and it seems unlikely you can if the door is anything to go by!

Shocked at how nice our room was for the price!!!!…. Lovely en-suite facilities and three big single beds…. Whilst we were a couple it would have been nice to push two beds together but big side cabinet prevented it….|The road is noisy but we’re near the docks so was to be expected… stayed here for a concert and walked back from Anfield as unable to get Uber… Uber to concert square was £11… I would definitely recommend and stay here again….

I find this hard to describe the experience when we arrived in this building. The smell for one wasn’t great, but all we wanted was a clean bed for the night after watching Tom at the salt and tar. What we walked into was a very basic, (which we would have been happy with) it was only for one night. Then we checked the beds. The grey bedding had seen far better days, bobbly and looked very old, but it was the hairs all over the pillows and duvets that made us walk out. We spent 2 hours looking for somewhere to stay. We eventually found somewhere but it was over 20 mins drive away. The pictures on the website are misleading, they look nothing like what we walked into.

As you walk in, the first thing you'll notice is the smell, as if the stairs have been mopped with stagnant water. However, the actual checking in and getting into the room was fine. I couldn't fault the room - it was clean and tidy with a huge comfortable bed and there was no sign of the damp smell once you were inside. |Point to note: There was no TV in the room. I had my laptop, but may be an issue for others. |Unfortunately the value-for-money property was severely let down by a few issues with management, which resulted in much confusion and a sleepless night for me. On pointing this out to the property, they became defensive and dismissive, on at least one occasion, blatantly lying.|Such a shame that a decent property is let down due to this.

It was a decent place, value for money to stay. When we arrived there It was evening and we were not sure how to open the doors with codes. Luckily the lady in charge arrived for something else and she said that she was not told about our bookings and our room was not ready. She also showed how to open yhe doors with given code numbers. So, we had to leave our bags and went to city centre to spend some time. Then we returned the lodge. The room was clean but bathroom door was not closing properly. There was a communal, clean kitchen if you want to use. The location was not very good if you do not have a car. But if you have a car it s not far from the city centre.
All in all it is good.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Stayed here for a trip to Anfield, £6 taxi to the stadium, the rooms were really big and had loads of space, shower was amazing, so handy to have access to a kitchen and amazing value. Will be back!

If you want somewhere to stay in Liverpool which is clean, warm, comfortable with everything you could need and without breaking the bank, then I thoroughly recommend Dockside Lodge. Easy access to your room, plenty of street parking, well equipped kitchen on every floor, great shower and very comfortable bed. OK, the views aren’t great but you don’t care about that when you’re asleep! For practicality and great value for money you’d be hard pushed to find anywhere better. Will certainly return.
