We have stayed in the Dog &Bear before, and this was just a one night stay. Lenham is quite a pleasant traditional village, with traditional shops around the village square. Our room was quite adequate and fine for us, and the price of £85 was very reasonable, and the staff were very friendly. Although we didn’t take our main meal here, we had breakfast … and it was perfect; eggs royale were just about the best poached eggs ever. If I lived in or near Lenham I would come here again and again just for breakfast. If you need to stay in the area, I would certainly recommend it.

We stayed at the Dog and Bear for a couple of nights, attending a family event nearbye. Just some advice the large parking area is behind the pub/inn through a public car park, second on the right. The room for the two nights was fine although on the second night noise from a macerator upstairs made it hard to sleep and the shower was pretty ineffective.|We had an excellent meal on arrival, pies and pints! It sounds basic but was actually lovely. It’s a Shepherd Neame house so the pints were very good. The breakfasts were absolutely first class. We’re awaiting a promiseda refund on the second night but it wouldn’t prevent us staying there again. The managers and staff were very helpful|Good food, comfortable bed,great breakfast, good Wi-Fi, good parking.

First stay at this wonderful country inn.|Absolutely loved the experience. We had a small dog with us and couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome.|The room was lovely, great facilities so so comfy. We had a wonderful evening meal and superb breakfast. The location was idyllic too.|Can’t wait to go again very soon

Had a wonderful Boxing Day lunch with all the family - eleven of us. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpfull and lovely atmosphere. Food was superb (the children even rated theirs the best ever!) and all the adults were impressed. Thank you all for a great occasion.

We had a fantastic stay at the Dog & Bear.
There is plenty of parking behind the house, our room was spacious, clean, renovated with a beautiful view of the market square and the church.
The service was excellent from all the staff, we and our dog felt very comfortable.
Dinner and breakfast left nothing to be desired.
After a quiet night, we were not far from the Eurotunnel the next morning. We would love to come back to the Dog & Bear on our next trip.

This review is for Sunday dinner with our family in the bar area. The place was very quiet for a Sunday lunchtime. The main problem was the service. The wait time between ordering and getting served was over an hour. My food wasn’t great, the locally sourced sausages had been microwaved and were hard. The roast beef my partner had was also over cooked. Apart from that the veggies were ok but service was so slow. I doubt we’ll be back and I doubt the staff would care given their general demeanour.

Situated in the lovely village of Lenham this pub and hotel serves some lovely home made foods and is lovely and cosy. I just went for lunch so cannot comment on the hotel side.
Service was friendly and the barman was able to answer questions about the menu.
The pub has an oldy worldly feel with beamed ceilings, the seating is mainly dark wood tables and chairs but there are a couple of comfy leather armchairs too!
The main meal was locally made sausages X3 with a rich gravy and caramelised onions,creamy mash and vegetables served with some very crunchy crackling. The meal was £14.95 which considering the quality I felt reasonable. I did feel that desserts were too pricey so I didn't have one.
If you're not looking for a main meal you can get sandwiches, I saw some brought to a nearby table and they looked very nice and I did hear a couple of "wows" from said table.
There is free parking in the village limited to two hours and you can find some street parking if it's not too busy.
If you're staying I'm not sure of the arrangements.

We didn't stay at the hotel, just went for a family meal. The service was amazing and the food was very good. My only criticism is the menu is quite limited, and there are no stand-out meals.
