We're no strangers to Tallington Lakes, and the Lakeside Retreat is by far the best lodge we have stayed in. The location, the quality of the lodge, views, and outdoor furniture were amazing! It was fabulous for our sausage dog too. The decking is very secure, plenty of gates which kept her safe. We could go in the hot tub and contain her with us. The air conditioning was an added bonus that we had to use whilst we were here (34° heat). The communication from Ali was also 10/10. It really is an amazing place, so much so we have already booked again for June 2026! If we could award more than 5 stars, we would! Can't wait to come back again next year!

Reactive dog owner here 👋🏼🐕Just got back from two nights here (wish it was longer but wasn’t sure how my dog would settle)! Despite my best efforts my dog isn’t good with any other animal on four legs really and so this place is a brilliant find, it literally ticks all the boxes! Very private, well maintained gates all over the property giving peace of mind whilst you’re in the hot tub or lying in the sun. Stayed midweek and it was so tranquil and peaceful, views over the lake are perfect and the lodge itself again clearly well maintained and spotless. Ali the host is very responsive and really friendly and helpful. My doggo was immediately at ease and relaxed the entire time. A/c was a bonus also. Even managed to get to the on-site bar whilst here as there was lots of outdoor seating so I could keep my distance from other dogs, awesome stay!

We are currently staying this weekend for hubbies birthday. It's a perfect spot with a beautiful south facing view of the Lake and field views at the back of the lodge, very peaceful with hardly any traffic.
A lovely outdoor space with quality furniture to enjoy the sun.
and
A little enclosed outdoor garden for our Pooches to roam freely.
Very dog friendly indeed, no worries about them escaping .
Highly recommend to all dog owners for a peaceful break away

Ali's place was lovely. The quirky touches, the lovely hamper, the View, the hot tub, the hot tub were all 5 star. I had the pleasure of meeting Ali on my dog walk. She is a lovely warm lady who communicated with me before during and after our stay. Vitaly dog was very well catered for too. There were lots of extra bits for dogs just in case you forgot something. Highly recommended.

Just returned from a surprise 50th birthday weekend. Brilliant lodge. Exceptionally clean, well maintained and it's on the shore of the lake. Thoroughly enjoyed. Would definitely go back and highly recommend for anyone into paddleboarding or kayaking. I did fish, but took the wrong gear. It's a vast water and with the water temperature low could cast a waggler far enough. Feeder would have worked though.

What a lovely place! Beautiful setting, lovely host 😊 if you’re looking for peace and a beautiful view to wake up to you won’t regret staying here. We have a nervous rescue dog so we are cautious travelling with him, but I have never seen him so calm and relaxed here. So nice to be able to let him wander in the garden and deck or just watch the ducks paddle on by. lovely walks on your doorstep and a hot tub to relax in after. The lodge itself is immaculate, we didn’t want to come home. Will be back next year ♥️

Had the most amazing time staying at the lake house. Ali was a fantastic host popping by to check if we needed anything. Everything you could possibly think of was thought of and the secure garden for dogs was perfect. Incredibly peaceful location watching the lake whilst on the deck or in the hot tub. Would most definitely stay again.

Oh my goodness what an absolutely PERFECT retreat.
We were desperate for some respite after a really difficult year, and that's exactly what we got.
Our car never moved from arriving on Monday to leaving on Friday.
Plenty big enough even for our two German Shepherds.
So quiet, clean and everything you need for your dogs too, including Bowls, bedding, spare leads and poop bags in case you run out. We took our throws for the sofa in case the boys jumped up.
Lovely welcome basket, with some home made treats for our dogs.
I was also able to have a try at doing some glasswork.
