We stayed for our first wedding anniversary and the overall experience was 'ok'
The positives, the grounds were lovely, very scenic and picturesque, the weather was lovely and we couldn't fault the food. Breakfast was good, a nice buffet with a good selection , meal at the steakhouse was also lovely, as was the on site Italian eatery.
We did however find a lot of the staff we encountered quite rude and lacking customer service skills.
We had an issue with our room ( pretty simple to resolve ) that just wasn't rectified despite being told it was sorted. We had to ask for the basic amenities that should have been in the room from housekeeping like toilet roll, towels etc
For the price we paid for the break , in a deluxe suite it was very underwhelming..
We won't be returning nor would we be recommend unless you're visiting to eat, in which case you'll probably enjoy.

After a cancelled flight, easyJet selected the Doubletree as our overnight accommodation. We tried to get excited about an unexpected extra night for our weekend but the thought of getting up at 3:30am to catch a flight home weighed on our minds! The hotel is very impressive from the outside-loved the fairy lit pine! When we went into reception it felt a little underwhelming and we were hit with a fusty smell which permeated throughout the corridors and (later on) into the dining areas. The staff sorted us out promptly and we went to our room (after paying £10 overnight parking-a frustrating charge which now seems standard at any hotel with car parking). We got a £15 voucher for dinner and a £10 voucher for breakfast (presumably from easyJet) though unfortunately we would be unable to make breakfast due to early departure. The room was comfortable and pretty clean. The shelf over the toilet cistern was not fitted properly and the finish around the edges was really shoddy. Apart from this everything else was clean. Complimentary water was appreciated. We went down to The Living Room for dinner. My husband had burger and fries and I had steak and fries. My husband said the burger was delicious. My steak was flavoursome, but quite chewy. We both agreed that the fries had been deep fried too many times-over cooked and the potato inside the chip seemed to have disintegrated. After this we went to bed - an early night. I found the bed comfortable, but my husband had a fitful sleep as it was harder than he is used to. However, bed comfort is very subjective. We settled our bill and we're pleased to note that the dinner voucher had been doubled - very kind as it was just myself who was affected by the flight cancellation -my husband lives and works in Bristol. A bit of a mixed bag, though some good aspects. But the smell in reception and corridors could really do with being looked into to see if there's something that could be done as we did find it really off putting. However, we did appreciate being put up at short notice-we could have stayed in worse places!

We stayed here back in November and had a slight issue with our stay as we were charged 3 times for the room.
In the days after our stay the hotel manager was very helpful and got the funds returned and reduced the rate of our stay and offered a room upgrade for our next stay.
We stayed here first week of march and the front desk staff were amazing, the king loft suite was beautiful and luxurious we felt welcomed and well catered for!
The breakfast buffet is fantastic and the pool and spa facilities just topped it for us!
We will definitely be staying here in the future and would like to thank the hotel manager for his wonderful assistance and professionalism throughout the ordeal.

Pool area: in need of basic maintenance in a number of areas. Large patches of damp and broken plaster on ceiling and walls in the pool area and changing rooms. Generally needs a refurb. Another example of leisure staff not opening their eyes to the actual state of the place day to day. In the “relaxation” room - I counted 5 out of 50|“Star” lights actually working. Pool was really busy with swimming lessons while we were on a spa break. Not ideal. ||Spa treatments: lovely staff, nice treatments, well worth the visit ||Rooms: nice, spacious, no issues.||Food: “Marco Pierre White” I doubt has ever even visited here, let alone cooked there. Despite his photos around the place - the food was substandard. Starters; calamari - was 3/5. Tasteless tartare source. 16oz sirloin streak was appalling 2/5. Chewy, and tasted very salty £39.50. We sent this back. Partner had pasta ravioli - very basic and pre cooked 2/5. Dessert -|Chocolate brownie and ice cream. Brownie was not fresh and clearly reheated due to the burned bottom and top. 2/5.||Overall I cannot recommend the restaurant at all.||Bar - Guinness was poor, and went back twice to the bar. Bar tender said a few people had reported issues, which clearly had not been resolved.||Can I recommend this place? No. It needs work in the areas highlighted before it becomes a good standard.

My husband and I renewed our wedding vows at the hotel and from start to finish it was amazing! Michelle our wedding planner was brilliant and the team that looked after us on the day were so good, Louis and Paige were on hand throughout making sure our special day went well and it most certainly did! I would definitely recommend the hotel for a wedding celebration.|We also stayed and had dinner in the restaurant the evening before and our stay in a lovely family room and the food was outstanding! Reception team also brilliant! I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. Thank you to everyone that made our day so very special

A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting with excellent staff. We stayed 4 nights at Hilton Cadbury House. We had an excellent check in which was a great start to our stay. The room (king deluxe) was very comfortable and had a beautiful view. A minibar in the room would have been nice but apart from that everything was perfect. Thank you so much everyone at Cadbury House!

Room was lovely on first impressions and firm bed which personally i love but then the toilet seat had looked like it had stool in it and then got double charged for room service after paying for it on credit card, spoke to reception and they didn't seem to know what was going on therefore was a stressful situation for us, so in 1 comment don't add a card to room, pay as you go as charges to the card on card at midnight regardless if bill has been paid, not on check out which is unclear and if you pay with different cards get receipts to proof when check out. On an end, one week after we are still having issues trying to resolve this issue.
