I had the pleasure of being served by Lynne-s during my recent visit, and I can’t speak highly enough of the experience. From the moment we arrived, she greeted us with a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm that immediately made us feel welcome.

Throughout the meal, Lynne was attentive without being intrusive, always checking in at just the right time and making excellent recommendations from the menu. Her knowledge, professionalism, and friendly demeanor truly elevated our dining experience.

It’s rare to come across service that feels both effortless and thoughtful, but Lynne struck that perfect balance. I’ll definitely be returning—and recommending the restaurant—largely because of the outstanding service we received.

Thank you Lynne for going above and beyond!

I have been working in the area for a few months and have used the hotel regularly while I've been here, the staff are friendly and hard working, Laura and Daisy are great, as well as Sharon who I believe is the bar manager, they are constantly busy but always smiling. I have ordered food occasionally and have enjoyed it each time and the service was great. Mostly a really good experience, I would like to say however that on more than one occasion I have witnessed staff being spoken to appallingly by a blonde haired manager who I was shocked to discover was the Deputy Manager. Maybe she needs to realise that just because you go behind a door if you have a loud voice people can still hear you. Not something customers want to be listening to.

Came for the 2 course lunch and spa. Lunch "menu" is abysmal, 2 choices for starter, 2 choices for main and "choose 3rd course for 6 quid" with only 1 choice for dessert. Not had treatments yet so can't speak to those but the lunch menu is atrociously small. I get it's a menu worth 10 quid (not sure why) but really? For a 4 star hotel? Shocking.

edit: had the treatments, my therapist was amazing, really accommodating and paid attention to the questions/answers. My mother's therapist was, however, not as attentive. Mum felt the girl had no time or patience, was short in her responses and not accommodating at all. Treatments were given but it was more a case of "this is it. nothing more. nothing less. just this."
versus my experience which was lovely, attentive and respectful. Whomever the blonde girl working in the treatment spa was on Tuesday 1st - Thank you for making my spa experience wonderful šŸ™‚

Stayed here on Saturday night , was going to a concert at hydro. The staff were extremely pleasant and welcoming. Haven’t stayed here before but illl be back. Gwen who checked us in was lovely but so was all the staff. Unfortunately I fell in room the next day prior to leaving and the housekeeping staff were extremely helpful - carried out first aid and supplied us with water and cookies for our drive to an and e . I can’t thank everyone enough. An extremely welcoming hotel with the best staff. Thanks for everything.

Upon arrival we was greeted by Gwen. She was very welcoming and helpful as we were here for the weekend going to a concert. She help us to get a taxi and also told us where we was going and best places to stop

Then we came down to the bar area and was greeted Jan. Lovely and bubbly personality. Nothing is too much trouble for her. She has a great way with the hotel guest. Also always checking if everything is good. Always see her with a smile on her face.

We have never been to a hotel were the staff are this welcoming and felt like home form home as all are so welcoming.

Check in was swift and efficient.
Room was adequate and clean but clearly in need of a refurb.
No air con, cracked tiles in bathroom etc.
Lynne S gave exceptional service for my evening meal, kind and polite with a welcoming attitude, amusing and respectful, a true credit to the team. The fish and chips was beautifully cooked.
All in all a great visit and I would return.

Lovely hotel and great staff. The bedroom was spotless and very comfortable. We were well looked after by the staff especially John and Lynne in the restaurant and bar. Food was excellent.|Thanks very much, we'll be delighted to come back anytime.

Firstly, it seems my experience is not typical of this hotel. All the same, this is what happened to me.||Check in was fine. I arrived early so ate lunch in the restaurant, which I enjoyed.||I asked if room service was available 24 hours a day . The answer was yes and was asked to leave a Ā£50 a night card hold - no problem.||(Problem is- room service is not available until after 5.30pm. I called reception and wanted to eat (between 9.30pm and 10.30pm) but was told there was no food available as the restaurant had closed at 9pm and room service didn’t start until 10.30pm. The app states room service is available from 5.30pm but it isn’t, and reception was pretty clueless).||After checking in I found my shower was not working properly (intermittent water flow and coming on and off). ||I went to reception and asked to change rooms but was told the shower was working that morning (Do your receptionists have a psychic link to guests to check this)||I told the receptionist that she wasn’t there to watch the guest shower and after a 7 hour drive I wanted 2 things - a comfortable bed and a working shower. She INSISTED on sending maintenance who confirmed it was sticking and these particular ones were being phased out!||Management - please note. When a guest says that something is not working, they are not lying. They just want what they have paid for - WORKING facilities.||This left a sour taste. I then tried to enjoy the rest of my stay, but with the constant banging of heavy doors and the robotic hoover beeping and banging in to the walls and doors, I’m guessing this particular Hilton doesn’t want its guests to sleep during the day.||To add insult to injury, you tried to overcharge me for dining expenses. Luckily I kept all my receipts and reception agreed the extra charges they tried to ā€˜take,’ were a mistake. (Lucky for me. I DID keep receipts but after the snotty receptionist and shower issue I guessed there could be further problems. (Seasoned traveller intuition)||As a final note. I spend most of my year staying in hotels all over the UK and I rarely have any issues. In fact, most are really good.||I’d like to think this stay is not representative of hotels in this area.||I’ll find out soon as I’m taking my business elsewhere. I’ve never had any trouble in my literally hundreds of stays with IHG.||You might have excellent reviews, in the main, Hilton, but you didn’t deliver this time.||(Two stars have been given because my bed was comfortable and the restaurant staff were very friendly) but don’t get too excited. ||Your first impression- reception (guard dog) needs re-training in customer service. ||(There was one lovely receptionist I spoke to and had a lovely chat - Gwen, I think. A truly lovely lady. Thank you. You gave me the most pleasant encounter of my stay)
