We stayed at this beautiful bed and breakfast last weekend for a family wedding nearby. My partner, myself and three daughters occupied all three of the bedrooms and each was beautifully appointed, full of charm and character. John and Sheila made us feel so welcome and were more than happy to allow us to have the rooms early to fit in with the wedding arrangements - nothing was too much trouble. The beds and bathroom facilities were all top quality and I felt very privileged to stay there. Breakfast was lovely in a charming room, and I must admit I was sad to leave. If you are searching for a B&B maybe for a wedding, as we were, get in quick because I believe we stayed in the best accommodation in that area and it made our weekend complete!

My wife and I only stayed 1 night in this lovely B&B but we hope to return there sometime. Sheila and John made us feel at home straight away with tea in the sitting room. There are beams everywhere so it can be a case of duck or grouse but that is part of the charm of superb old building. Located in a quiet spot near the village green and village pubs its an ideal place to relax. One room was twin bedded and looked over the pretty cottages garden the beds were very comfortable; this room is not ensuite but we had exclusive use of large bathroom with a high tech shower cubicle as well. There was a plentiful supply of clean towels and quality toiletries.|||| A nice breakfast is included in the price, with plenty of choice and if you have eggs they will be freshly laid by Sheila's hens! Breakfast is served in a lovely dining room. ||||We would both highly recommend staying here especially, if like us you love beautiful old buildings with lots of character. (Note for anyone with cat or dog allergies there is one of each).

We had the pleasure to stay here overnight last weekend, whilst visiting the area for a family wedding. It was such a lovely surprise to find just how welcomed we felt at The Dovecote. From the moment we arrived on their drive, both Sheila and John, together with Flossy their golden retriever, made us feel so welcome, and the wonderful, timbered house exuded both charm and warmth as we were introduced to our extremely comfortable room. It's so much nicer to be able to stay in a character property such as this than in a cold and impersonal hotel, we loved it here. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was top quality, just what we look for when staying away from our home. Thank you once again, we thoroughly recommend that anyone looking for a great quality B&B in this area, look no further, you've just found one.

From the moment we arrived to the day we left four days later we felt at home. The welcome, with much needed cup of tea taken in the garden, was so friendly. The rooms are beautiful, the beds comfortable, the breakfast very tasty and the whole atmosphere calm and relaxed. The garden is a joy to behold. The sitting room lovely. ||The only thing to mention would be that as the house is very old it is not suitable for people with limited mobility. ||We went with two great friends and visited both the Watercress line steam train and the Watts museum .||There are two excellent pubs close by. We loved it.

While we were visiting here for work, we found the accommodations to be very plush and comfortable. There was plenty of space and room to relax. The owners are truly the most hospitable people we have encountered. With home cooked breakfast in the morning and a warm cozy fire to come home to in the evening, it was the perfect accommodations for the chilly weather outside. Fabulous place! While the gardens were not yet in full bloom, you could see how gorgeous they would be during prime season. Absolutely adorable!

I stayed here for one night in August and it was just wonderful. From the minute I arrived I felt very welcome and looked after. Every room in the house is tastefully decorated and my bedroom was both charming and comfortable. Breakfast was a real treat and the hosts were delightful in every way. I would definitely go back and can recommend this beautiful B&B to anyone. ||||||||The house is charming and the hosts delightful.

Following a recent overnight stay at Dovecote, sadly, it is necessary to write a negative review.||||The very pleasant hosts made us very welcome at Dovecote when we arrived with a tray of tea and a warm fire. However, unfortunately we were extremely disappointed from thereon. Though our room was warm and comfortable, there were no toiletries in the bathroom, except liquid soap for the hand basin. The sugar bowl in the tea tray had obviously been stagnant for quite some time and was crystalised at the sides and there was no milk. There was no TV or radio in the room, although this did not bother us, but it might for some. The breakfast in the morning was not a good experience. Firstly, an apology was made that milk for the tea tray in our bedroom had been forgotten (we were unable to make ourselves any of the usual hot drinks in our room ). We tasted one of the yogurts only to find it was lukewarm and clearly had not been chilled and was slightly curdled. We then noticed the use by date had expired 8 days previously. We had a full English breakfast and, once again, there was another apology that they had forgotten to cook the sausages. There was just half a tomato and one mushroom with the eggs and a few rashers of bacon (this may have been streaky bacon). One of the jams on the table had solidified and crystalised. The 2 small croissants seemed somewhat dry and tough.|||| Dovecote of course is a very beautiful property, however for ÂŖ125 a night we did feel quite upset with our experience.

To make it short, I highly recommend the stay at the Mesh family house!
We were visiting the King Edwards school near by and were looking for an accommodation for the night, so I rang the bell of Dovecote B&B and a friendly woman opened the door and let me in, so I had a look if we would like the rooms. The house looks tiny from the outside but is quit big with three bedrooms for visitors and two nice decorated bathrooms. I was impressed by the love for the details and the effort that was done to make this B&B so cosy and comfortable.
We had diner in the CrownInn Pub 300 m away from here and afterwards were offered a tea by Ms Mesh. Thank you for that 🙂
We both slept well and had a nice breakfast with fresh scrambled eggs from the chicken that lives in the garden. If you have time, have a look in the garden with all the nice flowers and plants!
