The staff were super friendly. Dinner was excellent - fish and chips, burger, other pub fare was just what we needed after running around the university. The rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was easy and tasty and included with the rooms.

Very friendly and helpful staff ( lady) at the reception. The room and bed were large and comfortable. This is one of not so many hotels with the bathtub. The breakfast choices for breads & buns were okay but not the best. Would go again to try their restaurant.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 days 2 nights last weekend. I like the design interior and the hotel itself was very clean and neat. It’s not too far from the city centre. The room which I booked was very comfortable. I had a good sleep since it’s very quiet. The breakfast was nice but it could have been better and more varied, rather than just full English breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, there was only one staff in the reception and restaurant. I had dinner as well but the beef burger (bacon / ham) was sort of overcooked. I should have mentioned it to the staff.

Hotel is fine.
Rooms are good.
Restaurant is diabolical.
Menus advertised on their website and from photos in the internet are out of date.
Ordered Breaded Brie and Popcorn Shrimps.
Medium Rare Rump Steak. Fish & Chips with mushy peas.
To begin with no one advised us we had to order from the bar.
The table we sat at did not have the dishes from the previous diner cleared away.
The starter took ages to arrive. In excess of 25-30 minutes.
The rump steak was definitely on the pink side, and not nigh on medium at all.
Scampi and chips arrive which were not very hot at all. I said I’d ordered fish and chips. I was told, that is fish and chips. Certainly not fish and chips in my book. See photo and decide for yourself!
I then queried this and eventually was told at the bar that the chef would be asked. No one came back to the table to indicate what was happening. I had to ask and someone else said they’d find out. Eventually I was advised fish and chips were being prepared and would be ready in a few minutes. It was duly delivered to the table, but lacking any mushy peas.
Very poor customer service indeed. No one seemed to take responsibility for the problem.
Service was very slow.

I stayed here for 1 night and had a wonderful nights sleep.

The young lady on the front desk was very good, helpful and friendly.

The room was spacious, clean, and tidy with the biggest bed I've ever seen.

The bar/restaurant is big and airy. I ordered Gammon and chips, and it was really good.

Would definitely stay again.

When we booked my husband asked for a room with a walk in shower. When we arrived we discovered there are no rooms with walk in showers - only showers over the bath. I was offered a non slip bath mat, but what’s the point if you can’t lift your leg over the side of the bath?!! Bed was comfortable, room was clean, location was good. Breakfast was ok as long as you get down before 8.30. After that you might find very little available. A big shout out to SASHA who was left alone to cope with a very busy breakfast session on Saturday morning.

They have multiple large signs outside their hotel advising food deals only for you to get seated, more hungry then to be told after you had chosen your food, the deal is no longer available at all. I also rang the company to make sure the deal was on and was assured it was. The staff did not care at all.

It was supposedly a double-bedded room, but in actual fact, it was two singles bolted together with a double sheet over the top, which was OK. Judging by the condition of the carpets, they had not been vacuumed for a while. On balance, though, I did only see one member of the room servicing staff! The shower was good, once I had worked out how to start it. Both the BODY and HAIR soap were empty—I am guessing that they are hard for staff to easilly remove. The shower rail was very rusty! Breakfast was OK - I do like scrambled eggs to be available in small batches though. Dining room tables suffered from being sticky - even after a member of staff sprayed a table - a problem I ran into at another location later.
There is no fridge in the room, and there are only four mini milk cartons! So, despite the copious number of tea bags, they do not want you to relax and have multiple cups of tea.
BEWARE—check your number plate as you enter it at reception. If one digit is wrong, you could risk your car being towed as you sleep!
