Perfectly located on the seafront with a great view of the Pier.|This was a spur of the moment reservation made in the morning for the same night. It was reasonably priced for a sea view room. (Room 8).|We were made to feel very welcome at check-in by an extremely friendly lady. |Our room was up two flights of stairs. The room was tiny with the bed up against the wall so there was no bedside table. The bathroom was lovely but did not have a proper door, just two glass doors which pulled together but didn’t close. I found this extremely uncomfortable! A great range of fab products almost made up for it! |White waffle bathrobes and slippers, good quality tea/coffee and homemade shortbread were great additions. |The bed (small double) was extremely comfortable with beautiful quality bedlinen. However our sleep was broken at 2am by the fire alarm going off. This resulted in cold showers in the morning. |We had a problem with the TV in our room as the remote was worn out.|Breakfast was expensive but delicious. |On checkout the two guys on duty were really lovely and friendly and let me leave my car in its space until 2pm even though checkout was 11am. |There is parking for four cars directly outside the hotel which was great, if expensive.|On the whole I would definitely stay here again, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

We had a round room with a big soaking tub in the middle, which was great. However, the round design meant there was no closet or bureau so we couldn't really unpack our clothes (though there were cloths pegs to hang a few things up). More oddly, the bathroom (with the toilet and sink) was entirely tiled and was also the shower, so that after one of us showered much of the bathroom was wet. We did not like this setup. Our room also had quite tall windows, which were lovely during the day, but it was difficult to get the upper set of shutters closed at night to prevent the sun from waking us up early in the morning (perhaps we could have asked a staff member to help sort this, but we didn't think to). ||However, the staff were lovely and we enjoyed the beautiful sea-views. The hotel is about a 15-20 minute walk to the Lanes but we found some cafes and restaurants we liked closer to the hotel on St. James Street.||I don't think this hotel, or at least our room, would suit everyone, but it has its charms.

It was such a great experience, fabulously located, room was fantastic with stunning sea views. Staff were great. Food excellent, and now the bed!||||The bed was out of this world. I have never had such a great nights sleep!!||||And the overall experience….i could have moved in!

Well what can I say about this hotel! Absolutely fab! We stayed here for 1 night after arriving at another hotel we booked which was disgraceful! As soon as we walked in here, we were greeted with professionalism and staff were very attentive. We had one of the best rooms with sea view which was fantastic. We had such a great stay. Lots of little perks in the room which was nice. I’ll surely be mentioning this hotel on my FB and INSTA pages JuliesJetaways 👍🏾

Absolutely loved our stay at Drakes Hotel in Brighton. The location was perfect, right on the seafront and close to everything. The room was magnificent – stylish, comfortable, and spotless. But what really made the stay exceptional was the staff – incredibly friendly, attentive, and couldn’t do enough for you. Highly recommend!

The room was amazing but this review is to compliment the staff and how friendly each interaction was from even before you enter.
Help with luggage, parking car and even offering a complimentary home made drink on arrival.
You don’t get many hotels like this and would love to come back to this one

Loves our stay at Drakes. The room was beautiful as was the bathroom and general attention to detail. The crossover of new and modern decor really worked. Yes there is no lift but the building is old and yes there are signs of wear and tear but again the building is old and I am pretty sure maintenance is non-stop. The staff were on the right side of friendly yet professional and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Food was delicious (breakfast only). Car parking was easy and again the staff were very helpful. As for location...the view from our room said it all...beach as far as the eye could see! We'll be back!

So heavenly that I am booked in for another visit. Greeted by Victor whose gentle demeanour immediately set me at ease. Tamara, Anthony and ALL the staff were super friendly and efficient. Delicious breakfast in beautiful settings served by lovely Becca. The hotel is perfectly positioned for all aspects of Brighton, not to mention the gorgeous seaview on the doorstep. Kemptown is behind with a myriad of eateries. Top drawer!
