Fabulous Lodge! We stayed in Willoughby Lodge this time but have previously stayed in Penny Lodge. Both are fantastic. Spotlessly clean and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Amazing hottub too! Very quiet and beautiful views. We will be back 🙂

Beautifully decorated lodge with every amenity you could wish for. A bottle of prosecco and a large bag of crisps were left as a welcome package which were well received😁 Tea, coffee, milk sachets and some pods for the Tassimo coffee machine were also provided. Lovely and warm with the electric heaters on. Beds were comfy and rooms also well deocrated. Everywhere was really clean| For me the best part was the thought that has gone into the siting of the hot tub. Right by the front door with a cover for when it rained and really private. The first hot tub lodge that has met all my requirements. Owner welcomed us when we first arrived and explained hot tub use. Lots of quirky items fixed to the ceiling and joists which we were still spotting on our last day. Great location and had good days out in Durham and at Beamish Musuem. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stay here again.|

This is our third visit to the lodges, once staying in The Owl and twice in Penny Lodge. |We ordered an Asda delivery to arrive when we did, it came early but Susan kindly took care of it, putting things away for us all without being asked. Very much appreciated.|The lodge is as beautiful as the last time we were there, spotless, well equipped and quirky. |Great location, close to the motorway but very peaceful and quiet. |Hot tub still used despite the rain. |Cannot recommend these lodges enough run by a very lovely lady.

This is the most beautiful lodge we have ever stayed in. It was decorated for Xmas when we arrived (Dec 23) and it looked so welcoming. Sue the owner had lit the fire for our arrival and it was so warm and cosy in there. The little owl lodge sleeps two adults and two children in separate bedrooms, though there was just the two of us, so we didn’t use the twin room. |The whole lodge is beautiful and the photos on the site do not do it enough justice. There’s huge windows looking out onto fields where we have seen an abundance of birds, a hare (or a huge rabbit!!) and a couple of pheasants during our 4 day stay. The hot tub is amazing and has a canopy above to shield you from the weather.|The quirky details inside this lodge really appeal to us. . . . The pool ball curtain tie backs, the hammer head and door knob coat hooks, the wall plaques and the VW fridge are at least some of them.|The bed and settees are so comfy, my husband fell asleep on all of them at some point!!! |Lovely large shower enclosure with piping hot water constantly.|We cannot fault our stay here one little bit. It has exceeded our expectations. We are still here for another hour but we just don’t want to leave!!|It’s going to be “See you later” not a “Goodbye”|Absolutely beautiful. We stayed in Willoughby Lodge just myself and husband. The care workmanship layout and whole site has been carefully and expertly done. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend and hope to return.

The Penny Lodge is the best lodge I have ever been to! The whole place was spotless and the owners were so lovely. We have booked to go back again next year! The hot tub was massive! You could honestly fit six people in comfortably. Thank you for a lovely time 🙂

Absolutely beautiful place! The hosts were amazing, very quick response and incredibly helpful. The lodge was gorgeous, absolutely spotless and even came with a welcome pack. Would honestly come back here again and again and really recommend it. The view from the hot tub was beautiful and the scenery in general is incredible, definitely worth the trip!

Outstanding, this was our second visit, and it certainly didn't disappoint, spotlessly clean and the decor in penny Lodge and all the little touches make it so special, I've been on dozens of hot tub lodges, but this is one of the best I've been too, well done sue, fantastic. 😁
