Disappointing visit today. We booked a badminton court while our normal club had a week off for half term. Upon arrival we told reception we had booked a court for 8pm and was told it was court six In the projectile room. We had to ask where that was as we hadn't been before and were given no further information.
When we got to the room there was some kind of class in there with loud music. Nothing on the door to say what time it was on until or when the courts would be set up for us- or indeed that they would.
I returned to reception (at precisely 8pm on the dot) to ask if it was the right room as it appeared and was told that there would be a quick turn around. When I returned to the room my partner had set up the net- unaware that anyone would do it for us or indeed that the class would stop.
Three minutes in and we were approached by a member of the leisure centre team who scolded us about setting up the nets and took close to ten minutes of our playing time while telling us that they guarantee a 55 minute session. He admitted there have been issues setting up the courts in previous weeks but that they are now making sure they get nets set up quickly (as this was our first time we weren't aware of any prior issues clearly) and that if there are any issues to go to reception.
We're nice people, said we weren't aware of any of this as it was our first time here but that it might be a good idea for reception to tell people, or perhaps put a note on the doors to the room to let people know. But he wasn't having any of that and gave us a further health and safety lecture (while there was a dog barking INSIDE the seating right by reception, no I didn't mention this to him) and was quite sharp with us with his tone.
As a paying customer and first time visitor I felt incredibly uncomfortable with his manner. Accusatory, belittling and degrading it was a completely uncomfortable experience. His final words were to the effect of 'lets just say that moving forward you don't touch any of the equipment'
We had a long lecture about the types of classes that might have been on and who we could have hurt but I can't help but feel that this experience could have been avoided by a simple 'hello, there's a class in there at the minute but it finishes dead on eight and staff will be in to set up your courts, please wait outside down the hall' at reception.

I have used this leisure centre for a while now and have had a lovely experience each time with my children.
Friendly, helpful staff and clean facilities throughout.
Today was incredible and a special thanks to Ella for helping my father in law with his needs in the pool. She was patient, helpful and gave her time and advice happily. We'll definitely be back.

Same great place as always but with some big changes. Has had a big gym renovation with added machines and rooms for all types of classes. Everything is reasonably priced and the food in the cafe is pretty good two swimming pools big and small with the big pool having an adjustable floor.

A fabulous reasonably priced and well staffed leisure centre. Staff are professional and courteous and a very well resourced recently
extended gym is available at competitive rates. The pools are good, if a little "cool" since utility bills increased. The Sports Hall, Library and Customers Services are all well-managed. My reason to attend is the thrice weekly Soft Play sessions for Babies to 5 year olds. Open Monday, Wed and Friday 10.00am till 12.00, at a cost of £3.80 per child, is fantastic value and my granddaughter loves it. It has given her confidence, balance and social opportunities much needed for a child born in the first lockdown (2020). My fifth star would be the addition of other classes for 2 to 4 years old e.g. gym, dance or trampoline.

Came to a fostering course and it's the first time I visited. What a place for the local villages. Unfortunately we don't live close by or we would be regular visitors of the place. Something for everyone.
