Having read some of the reviews, I was a little concerned our stay wouldn’t live up to expectations, however, I needn’t have been because we all had a fantastic stay. Our rooms were situated in the Mews, which were beautifully decorated, spacious and close to the Spa. Our evening meal was served in the main house, with breakfast and lunch served in the Spa restaurant. All our meals were delicious, and the staff friendly, attentive and professional. The pool and surrounding areas were clean, warm and the loungers comfortable. The only issue we found was being a large group ( 6 ladies) , we couldn’t all get a lounger by the pool, however, as most of us were happy to spend our time swimming or relaxing in the jacuzzi it wasn’t too much of a problem. I just wish we could’ve stayed longer.

Do not stay here! Hotel staff don’t seemed trained in customer service (think low budget hotel, definitely not luxury spa retreat) and the duty manager Axel was rude and clearly misjudged how to conduct himself as someone representing what claims to be a high class resort when I raised an issue. He seems young and untrained and I got the impression complaints were quite common by his snappy and indifferent response. ||Spa is not maintained - outside plunge pool is too cold, steam room broken, showers have dirty curtains, one had no door and empty complimentary shower gel/shampoo bottles. Not even any hand wash in the toilet! ||We were seated at the Manor for dinner at 7:30. By 9:30 we were still waiting for our main course. This pattern repeated in the bar, at check in / out and in the spa restaurant: queues and haphazard service. The breakfast next morning in the spa was pitiful, again with long queues of people hoping that the empty platters and plates might be replenished.||The grounds are stunning and the treatment was amazing - in fact all the staff in the treatment area upstairs were professional, friendly and it was run efficiently. They could teach those working downstairs in the spa and definitely those in the Manor House a thing or two about professionalism! ||Please save your money and go elsewhere. It’s not the luxury experience you’ll be hoping for.

Booked a night away for my girlfriend’s 50th and generally we had a brilliant time. There were however, a few areas that are worth mentioning.||1. We were very disappointed to find many of the spa facilities were actually closed or not working for example the sauna, the outside hydro pool and a lot of the jets were out of action. This was very disappointing as we purposely booked a spa evening and it did just feel like all we had was a swimming pool and a hot tub, however we couldn’t stay in the hot tub more than a minute because of the obscene amount of chlorine that prevented you breathing unfortunately.||2. As a contrast however, the restaurant service, food and ambience was outstanding and the attention to detail, the level of customer service, particularly from Louise last night and Clare this morning when we were late for breakfast, was amazing and very much appreciated. Thank you both for making our evening meal and breakfast memorable.

Beautiful building, staff and room were brilliant. Special thanks to Cassie for helping me out .it was very busy as it was valentines weekend, the staff did the best they could. There was difficulty getting a seat around the pool at the spa and jacuzzi was cold, but was very clean and pleasant experience. My treatment was brilliant, thanks Tatiana. It took some planning to check in at 3pm have a treatment at 4, wife treatment at 5, enjoy spa and have dinner in 4 hour window but we did it. Maybe it would be possible to open the spa at 4 for people checking in at 3 to reduce the 5pm rush? Lady at breakfast was showing guests to table, explaining the menu and taking some orders by herself as well as some guests refusing to serve themselves a coffee from the buffet giving her additional jobs. She managed it but could have done with some more help. The two ladies were running around but doing their best. The team in the bar did a great job getting our drinks and taking orders, polite and efficient. Evening dinner was delicious!

Visited recently for afternoon tea and an overnight spa visit.
The afternoon tea was delicious and Claire was so friendly and helpful.
We checked into our room and there were a few minor problems but after getting in contact with reception they were dealt with promptly.
Catherine gave me a wonderful massage, and I enjoyed the spa facilities afterwards.
The dinner and breakfast the next day were delicious.

We visited in March 2025 for treatments and a spa evening during our babymoon.|We were extremely disappointed with our spa evening. The receptionist on arrival was very abrupt and sent us to the wrong place initially. We were really disappointed that the outdoor pool wasn’t open, nowhere was this flagged in the booking process. Likewise, the sauna was out of use, the jacuzzi was broken and had wires sticking out of it and most of the jets in the hydrotherapy pool also weren’t working. The changing rooms had litter in them, for example a used cotton bud on the floor of the changing room and the dirty towels weren’t removed for the duration of the time we were there. Doors were hanging off lockers and one of the showers was broken in the men’s changing room. We were not happy to have to sit through an extremely loud aqua aerobics class which was blasting music while we were attempting to relax. The whole place felt tired and a bit grotty and like it really needed a good clean. My husband and I were expecting a luxury spa experience but this was so far from that and we left feeling very disappointed. I have passed feedback on directly to Champneys and been told 3 times that someone will has got back to me ( not true) or will resend their email but I’ve heard nothing which is just terrible customer service.|The whole thing cost us over £300 and it was just such a waste of money. |The treatments we had were good so that was the only redeeming feature.

An awful experience, bookings wrong (a party of 10) one room booked in a completely different hotel, rooms were dirty, long wait for table, even though it had been booked and then took ages to order food which was then cold when it arrived. The restaurant wasn’t even busy! The spa was tired and lots of things didn’t work. The spa treatment and staff was lovely. Even breakfast went wrong, no crockery as it was in the dishwasher, they ran out of food (this was at 9 am). Again, the restaurant was not busy. Staff really did their best but there was a lack of management, no leadership. The hotel and grounds are beautiful but it lacks good management. The staff tried to help as much as they could and tried to make things right but didn’t have the authority. I felt they were tired of being at the end of peoples anger and complaints. A beautiful setting but an awful experience.

Great spin class with Georgie. Definitely pushed me beyond my comfort zone. Can’t recommend highly enough. The staff are all super friendly and can’t do enough for members. I have genuinely enjoyed coming here for the last year and seen so significant improvement in my physical appearance. Well done to Alex Steve Georgie,Imogen and Danielle
