Peace. Beauty. Effortless hospitality. It is hard to describe why staying here has such a magical quality, because Christine has the gift to put all the little things together to fall into perfect place. The beauty of the old house is enhanced by the lovely furniture and decoration. Breakfast is just subtly different from anywhere else, as if it was quietly prepared with personal care, especially for you. The cows in the meadow add another dimension of tranquility. We also enjoyed the lovely towns all around the area and many historic sites.

The rooms are massive, and impressively equipped with traditional materials. Tranquil location, beautiful food. Stunning location perched on a hill , setback from the country road. Brilliant value for money. Gorgeous well presented huge traditional garden to the rear, with Aberdeen Angus in the fields to the front. The location is only a few minutes from the main town of Kelso , with its historic stone relics to visit, . Kelso itself has every amenity you could require, and also boasts its own castle plus river views and walks.

Never been before or even spoken to Christine but within a few hours of arriving it felt as if we were staying with an old friend. |What a beautiful, peaceful and interesting house. Nothing was a problem Christine booked a table at local restaurant, loaned and us wine glasses, provided local tourist information and was fully accommodating over breakfast which indeed was beautifully cooked and plentiful. If we’re ever up in the area again we would have to stay at Edenbank. It may be in the shadow of Floors but it shines out in hospitality!

A beautiful old house oozing with character in a superb setting. We had a huge en-suite room at the front of the house overlooking the fields. Christina welcomed us and we soon joined by Belle (the terrier) and Denzil (an enormous black cat). We intended to leave very early the following morning but thank goodness we didnt, otherwise we would have missed a fantastic breakfast served at a large dining table in a beautifully decorated dining room. We felt like royalty! We will be back.

recommended by a local Christina offers a lovely house, quiet and serene.with antique furniture and even the stags head on the wall! If you want a warm modern stay in a Victorian mansion, for less than a modern shed motel, head here! only a mile out of town -signs a bit lacking - drive slowly and admire the views.||Excellent breakfast without any TV -hurrah- and most accomodating host

I could not speak more highly of Edenbank House and the kindness of Christine. Just a special place to relax, unwind and enjoy the views over fields and farmland. Huge room - bigger than the downstairs of my two bed house in Leeds - and perfect base for exploring Kelso and Scottish Borders. Freshly-cooked breakfast, at a time of your choosing, was another bonus.

Set in beautiful gardens this is an ideal relaxing retreat in the Borders. Minutes away from Kelso but surrounded by countryside views you will recharge your batteries here no problem. Owner Christine is most welcoming, knows all the best places to eat of an evening and her breakfasts are superb.

Holiday week-end break with family (7 of us in total ). Having ignored advice and being mis-directed by navigation system eventually arrived at destination. Given great welcome by Christine and shown rooms. As noted in previous reviews large clean rooms, comfortable beds and en suite or individual bath or shower rooms. Unique ambience comprising combination of period furnishings and modern fittings. Altogether the house and warm welcome were in total contrast to bland hotels. Well worth a visit.
