Stayed here on Monday and the staff, room, food was all outstanding. Been once before for my husbands 50th and this stay was a wedding present on our way back down from Aberdeen. |We had a room which over looked the garden, was a comfy bed and lovely bathroom. We stayed in room 18 which was huge. |We had food in the restaurant on the evening which was so tasty, and breakfast in the morning was great. All staff friendly and ready to help and chat. |Great location to be able to walk along the river, go for a few drinks . |Would recommend a stay here

We stayed at the Ednam House Hotel for a special anniversary and it did not disappoint! It was like staying in a stately home, particularly the lounge. The bedroom was spacious, very clean and the bed most comfortable. We had the Spring offer which included dinner and tickets to Floors Castle which was a real highlight. The dinner was beautifully presented and delicious. Highly recommend.

We have stayed at Ednam House previously and been more than happy with the accommodation and food. Having had a few days touring Scotland celebrating our wedding anniversary we had booked our final night at Ednam House. Unfortunately when our room became available there was no way we cld spend the night there. The room was about the size of a cupboard. The shower was over the bath which is not too unusual but there was no handle to assist in getting in and out, no anti slip mat making this a safety issue and the bath was dirty.|There was no alternative accommodation because of a wedding but expecting anyone to pay for a room like this is beyond me. This was such a disappointment and will never book to stay here again.

We were here for afternoon tea, although the food was presented very well and tasted great, there were far too many cakes and not enough savoury foods, we asked for a box to take at least 9 cakes home, from the time we asked we had waited over 30 minutes, which spoiled the whole experience, when the boxes arrived they looked like plastic small Chinese takeaway boxes which the cakes didn't fit into and were all squashed, I asked for a bigger box but that was all they had! I did notice other people sitting across from us who waited ages to even be acknowledged, eventually the lady got up and went to reception to see why nobody had came to see them, not the best of service from such a beautiful hotel, although the food was lovely.

We have stayed at other hotels within the group and for this type of hotel to be so close to the town centre was a bit of a surprise. Our stay was excellent from arrival to departure. Every one of the staff we dealt with was extremely friendly, without being at all intrusive. Spacious rooms, excellent food and perfect location mean we will be back and would recommend Ednam House to anyone.

As others have noted the hotel is set in a south facing location on the banks of the Tweed, with a large, grassed area with tables should the weather be good - which it was on our visit.|| Very friendly, helpful staff who sorted out any slight problems and gave advice on local attractions.||We ate both in the restaurant and adjacent tapas bar and the food was to a very good standard. A couple of comments regarding the restaurant are that it is accessed by quite a steep stairway with handrails. My other comment regards the dinner, bed and breakfast booking that does not make it clear that you have a £40/person allowance and any extra cost will be billed. I have no problem with this arrangement but it should be made clear, a number of the serving staff agreed that this did cause confusion.||Our room was generously sized and overlooked the river but unfortunately there was dust/ cobwebs in the corners.||All in all a good hotel we’d be happy to go back to.

Booked for Sunday lunch and was very disappointed. The only white wine available was Chardonnay! and it was served warm, and only one choice of non alcoholic beer! The lunch was poor. The beef was tough and the Yorkshire puddings were definitely frozen and re heated .There were patches of cold in them. There was no horseradish sauce. I was presented with grated fresh horseradish and told it could be mixed with mayonnaise! .. Sorry but will not be back again.

Simply put, it has been the most appaling customer experience we have ever come across. The staff at the bar were utterly clueless, unhelpful and disinterested. If it wasn't for the glorious weather and attractive garden to the rear we wouldn't even have stayed for one drink.
Each time we attempted to order a drink, the bar was unattended and even using the service bell provided didn't raise anyone for 10 to 15 minutes each time. As if that wasn't frustrating enough, when we asked for a food menu we were told they weren't serving until 17:30 and that even at 17:30 we couldn't see a menu because they didn't have one!? How can an establishment serve food with no menu? When we asked why some tables had been given menus, we were told that the menus other people were looking at were actually out of date and therefore not worth the paper they were written on. So why did they allow customers to look at these menus at all? All in all, it has to be one of the most bizarre things I have ever encountered at a bar/resteraunt. The lack of coordination, training and basic customer service skills was genuinely surprising. Ednam House should be very grateful for their idyllic position along the river Tweed because if they were relying on their professionalism and customer service to entice customers they would have gone out of business a long time ago. Avoid!
