We had a lovely one night stay at Ellenboro House in Orchard View, very comfortable and spacious. Sam cooked us a delicious breakfast which we ate in the dining room of the main house...absolutely delightful as was Lennon the family dog :-)|We hope to stay again one day, thanks to Sam, Ian and Lennon x

Just returned home from a wonderful 2 night stay in Orchard View apartment at Ellenboro B&B. We received a lovely welcome from Sam and Ian along with fresh lemon drizzle cake to enjoy with our cuppa. The apartment is beautiful, the bed was super comfy. We enjoyed a home cooked breakfast each morning and Sam's blueberry pancakes are to die for. Thank you for a lovely stay, would highly recommend this lovely place.|Gill and Jeff. X

This place was a great find! We wanted somewhere quiet and comfortable and this was it. Hosts Sam and Ian were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us to ensure we enjoyed our 3 nights there. Set in a beautiful country garden which also provided fresh strawberries and other fruit for breakfast. Sam makes her own jam which was really good, WiFi was good and fast. Location was within an easy drive to numerous pubs, other eateries and places of interest. Thanks Sam & Ian (and of course, Lennon) . Would certainly recommend this place.

We stayed for two nights at Ellenboro House in Orchard View, beautiful self contained accommodation, separate from the main house. So much thought has been put in to guests’ comfort; nothing is wanting. |The breakfasts were delicious, making use of top quality local ingredients and cooked to perfection by Sam. |We enjoyed Sam’s plum crumble cake, as we sat on the patio , admiring Ian’s marvellous dry stone walling . |Sam and Ian are warm, hospitable and interesting hosts. |We hope to return !

My family stayed here over the Easter break, my daughter and her husband stayed in the main house and we stayed in the Orchid view self contained apartment it was just fabulous. Set in a quiet location about 1 hours walk from Cartmel the apartment was very spacious, spotlessly clean, well laid out, extremely well decorated and the bed was super comfortable we had such a good nights sleep. Coffee, tea, milk, cookies, cake and Cava were left to greet us what a lovely touch. We decided to have breakfast each morning in the main house, great choice of items, freshly cooked and it certainly set us up for the day. Sam and Ian were perfect hosts, so welcoming and friendly nothing was ever to much for them, they made our stay so enjoyable, thank you.

Beautifully appointed apartment detached from the main house in which there is also a guest bedroom. A most comfortable stay. High quality ingredients provided for breakfast as well as tea, coffee etc and delicious sweet snacks. A very warm welcome added to the enjoyment of my stay. Off road parking for one car.

We had an amazing time at Ellenboro, the hosts were so sweet and could not have done more for us.
The homemade cake, shortbread, and sourdough were divine. Everything on the breakfast menu was cooked perfectly with quality fresh ingredients.
Our room was really comfy and clean, with everything we needed, although I am sure that if there was anything else we had required while we were there Sam & Ian would have made sure we had it 😊
We also loved the resident doggo, such a good boy and so sweet, really helped us when we were missing our own pooch ❤️
It was in a stunning and peaceful setting, but no more than 20 minutes from all the activities we had booked.
We would absolutely stay again in a heartbeat!

We loved this gorgeous place so much we are planning on going back in September. Sam and Ian are a lovely friendly couple who went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay as well as giving us our privacy. The house is beautiful and Sam was very helpful with her recommendations for local restaurants and walks. The room is very cosy and warm and there is a snug for you to relax. Sam makes her own bread, cakes and jam which are delicious. Definitely wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
