Josephine is an amazing, hardworking hostess and a mine of information. After our delicious cream tea we were shown to our room which was clean and comfortable with all the usual (and some extra) amenities. Breakfast was delicious and she even had a menu of home made jams! If you are walking the Coast to Coast, staying here will be one of your treats. Highly recommend

This host was most welcoming. We were greeted with a cream tea on arrival after a 20 mile walk which was perfect) The room was perfectly clean and had all facilities (including a foot spar!) The hosts catering skills were amazing which extended to the best breakfast and packed lunch we have had. Check in and out was very efficient. ||There was even a jam menu at breakfast (all of it was home-made)! We loved it. Thank you.

A great little B&B bang on the Coast to Coast. A great cream-tea welcome from Josephine, good independent accommodation, overlooking the garden. Great breakfast and great packed lunch with delicious home baking. A short walk to the pub for dinner. Couldn't be better.

Great stay at Elstavale. Josephine is a wonderful host who could not do enough for us. We were not the usual walker guests who stay at the B&B but were made to feel very welcome and very well accommodated. Very generous offering for the price paid, thanks so much for a great stay.

After a long day walking we were met Josephine with a pot of tea and cream scones which were very welcome. While we had our refreshments we were made to feel very welcome and Josephine shared here knowledge of the walk we were doing the following day.||The room was in an annexe overlooking the beautiful garden and was very comfortable with even a foot spa provided.||Breakfast was outstanding with lots of choice including home made bread. There was not detail that hadn’t been thought of, a perfect place to stay.

Great location right on the Coast to Coast route. Friendly welcome. Rooms are fine - decent size, light and shower ok. Highlight of breakfast was the home made jams - especially the (apparently legendary) rhubarb and ginger which I loved. Not far to walk down to the excellent Bluebell Inn for dinner - recommend booking advance!

The Elstavale B&B has been such a pleasure along our C2C walk. From the very friendly welcome with a cup of tea to the excellent breakfast everything was perfect.

After a long, hot walk along over-grown paths and farmland, we arrived at Josephine's to a jug of iced water, tea, scones and cream. Our rooms out the back of the main house we super comfy, quiet and overlooked a lovely garden, Josephine said to help ourselves to using the washing line so we were able to get some much needed washing done and my friend soak her feet in the foot spa. Breakfast and our packed meals were excellent. Certainly a B&B that definitely understands and caters for walkers, many thanks
