I've been staying at the empire hotel now for over 6 weeks and the reviews of the place are the worst I've ever seen about a hotel. Don't let that put you off. Everything I read about the hotel is the completely opposite from what I've experienced. In my room there's no cracked walls, the paint isn't peeling. The bed is one of the comfiest ive slept on. The toilet is clean, looks like a new seat on it. The radiator is that hot I'll be honest I had to turn it off sometimes at night so it won't be cold in the winter. There's no rubbish on the balcony when you look out the window. There's no damage to walls or doors. I've not seen any bags of drugs like was mentioned. Ive heard no real noise disturbance to warrant a complaint. There's always someone on reception and are super polite. Ive been asked on numerous occasions if I'd like my room cleaning. I think the bad reviews were do to the previous owners of the hotel. All I know is my stay so far has been a really pleasant experience. I'm not being payed for this review this is my genuine experience while being here.

DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL!!!
Myself and 3 children had to vacate out home due to carbon monoxide and was sent to this hotel by the Leicester City Council, we was there an hour before I decided to get my children out of there.!
Dirty smelly bedding with previous tenants bodily fluids still in them.. mould on towels, shower clogged with dirt and hair , a kettle that had matches in it and a very dirty and sticky floor!! Staying there I felt my family was as much at risk as it was staying in our home ! Rubbish on the landings that really smelt!!

We booked this hotel online as we were staying in Leicester to see a gig, I did check a few reviews and said it was basic and not far from the location we were going to. Plus everything else was booked up or very expensive |The pictures advertised looked ok |Until we arrived yesterday, yes there was parking |And it was free if staying at a hotel, that was good.|Once inside very spacious but basic reception are in an old Victorian building.|We went to the room and we were shocked, big room but basic furniture bed in the middle of room ,no headboard, no bed side tables|Curtain was closed, I opened it to see litter bottles etc in a roof, bathroom was terrible the shower cubicle had not been cleaned in a long time |Room was so dirty my husband asked for the hoover, we both said we didn't want to stay although we paid £90 everything else was booked up, we went gig and stayed out as long as possible as no TV to watch |Both slept in clothes and left as soon as could |Pictures say it all.back home now nice hot shower |Do not stay at this place it's the pits |

When we first got there their was lots of arguing and shouting and swearing , on arrival we had to wait 20 minutes before we could go to our room as it was apparently being cleaned pics below of dirty floor and shower no pillows at all had to wait over and hr for them a dirty sock over the smoke alarm pic below bedroom stunk of paint fumes aswell was told there would be free parking had to pay over 12 pound for a night hotel not as advertised wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here

Don’t be fooled by the pictures, although it doesn’t look to bad this place is horrendous, I had a deluxe double and there was nothing deluxe about it, bed was 2 singles with single mattresses pushed together and probably the most uncomfortable mattress I’ve ever had to sleep on. The shower was covered in black mould and I wouldn’t use it. There was an old bic razor and someone’s old soap still in shower aswell as blatant signs the toilet hadn’t been cleaned since last unfortunate person stayed there. ||It’s truly horrible place to stay I would honestly think I park bench would be cleaner and more comfortable

Dirty , horrible nasty place , pictures on line are a lie the rooms are not suitable for humans , stains up the walls , sticky floors , smells dirty . Staff are liars and scammers , avoid at all costs

There was an aint in our room too muchh dusttt no cleaningness dont there was no soap in bathroom as well floor was very dirty…dont stay in those hotels they dont give. Any type of good servic…

This place was horrible and disgusting when me and my family
entered inside. The duvet was dirty and the toilet is slippery and water everywhere also there was NO BIN! And outside the window was FULL OF RUBBISH that we could'nt sleep that much. The tv was fine. When we went home our body started to scratch we took a shower it was alright but still THIS SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!!! NEVER EVER GO THERE!
