Our stay at Buxton Crescent was wonderful from start to finish. My friend and I received a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite - very much appreciated to make our break away from our respective kids much more relaxing. The staff at check-in were brilliant - we had a great chat and were all laughing about our plans for the night and how excited we were about the room upgrade. The room was splendid and had multiple seating areas and the beautiful large bathroom with roll top bath I've come to know and love from this hotel. We spent a few hours in the spa in the evening and again in the morning. Both times, even when it was a little busier, we were able to do all that we wanted to do - the different heated pools were my favourite experience by far. The beds were extremely comfortable and we experienced little noise from the surrounding area at bedtime - we both had a very pleasant sleep. Breakfast was nice and I appreciated how ordering was very simple. Unfortunately we had to leave in a bit of a hurry as my husband (who had kindly booked the trip as a gift for us) was in a cycling accident on the morning of out departure. The lady at reception when we checked out couldn't have been more helpful and kind when I told her what had happened.

Had a wonderful Wellness Break 2-night stay. Our room was beautiful, very comfortable & pristinely clean. The food was outstanding, the breakfast buffet, hot food menu & spa cafe a delight; good vegan options available. The service and all the staff were helpful and accommodating. The large spa the best thing of it all. The facilities are kept very clean to a high standard, all focused around providing a calm, relaxing experience. The roof-top pool with outdoor jacuzzi were stunning in the sunshine. A 2-night stay was just right to be able to enjoy all the facilities. As a fitness bunny the gym and the yoga studio were the cherry on top.

Amazing Spa, Amazing Breakfast, Super-Classy Hotel in a great Location!
Liked ¡ I loved the professionalism and friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness and luxury feel of the property, the amazing location right in the heart of Buxton (you can walk to everything and 2 beautiful parks are just outside the door), the INCREDIBLE breakfast, and of course--the amazing spa/waters. The room we had (203) was also really nice in terms of size and amenities, but the location of the room wasn't ideal (see below). We have stayed here previously and loved it then, and it was nice to see the service, quality and condition of the hotel has not diminished in the slightest. I absolutely will not stay anywhere else when I visit Buxton--I like it that much (just choose the right room location)! I also loved that there were not a ton of kids around--it almost seemed adult-only (which is a gift, especially with the spa experience and such). Maybe it is?

Disliked ¡ My only real issue with our 2-night stay was the location of room (room 203), as it was faced towards the back of the hotel at the far end, right above the loading dock and just across from a bar/restaurant. The loading dock/trash bin noises early in the morning and then the late night yelling and partying from the bar didn't make for a relaxing sleep stay--so be warned!! Get a room that faces the front/park and opposite the low numbers. Also, the parking situation is tough, but we got lucky and didn't have to pay for the Valet Parking (30 GBP a night at time of writing this)--I wish there was a nice garage nearby that was more reasonable.

We couldn’t sleep in the room we were given. If the staff assign you room 001, ask to change it immediately!

This room is located on the ground floor, right next to the lift, which was operating every 30 seconds and kept us awake for half the night.
We could also hear people walking in the room above ours.
The pillows are very flat and far too soft.
This sounds ridiculous, but the air conditioning was extremely loud. It felt like it was at least 50 years old!
The breakfast is very average, to say the least.
Someone broke into our room just after we checked in!
It was a horrible night. Very disappointed, especially considering this is supposed to be a five-star hotel. When you pay this amount, you at least expect a good night’s sleep.

The spa was great. Only recommend to use the spa and not to book a room!

Spa treatments let down the experience.|Hotel is situated in a great location and is visually stunning. The rooms were luxurious and with a comfortable bed.|Arrived early to get lunch before check in, the initial reception staff member was curt. Returning to reception after lunch and for rest of the stay they were freindy and helpful.|The food was delicious and they accommodated my sides request without any issue, staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast was delicious, offered variety and promptly served.|The spa facilities were good, plenty of experiences, water, flip flops, robes provided. The terrace pool was amazing, overall a great experience.|I booked this specifically for one of their Oncology massages. I completed and submitted the form sent to me in advance of my stay, no other contact from the spa was attempted. Unfortunately on arrival of treatment I was declined as I didn't have a doctors note. There is no mention of this on the online booking and I was told the forms are not reviewed by the therapist until that morning, leaving me unable to arrange the document requested. I fed back to the spa manager but was made to feel at fault, a very unpleasant experience. The duty manager did contact me immediately to apologise. This left my experience some what tainted and I just want to give a heads up to book treatments cautiously or to call and seek full information to avoid disappointment.

Lovely relaxing stay at this fabulous hotel. Great food, perfect location.
Great facilities, although if you had only booked a 1 night stay you literally only have 30 hours at the hotel. Considering you have to eat & sleep this does not give you long at all to use these facilities.

Lovely stay in hotel. Room was clean and well maintained.

Mattress very soft. Good pillows. Nice selection of teas, coffees and hot chocolate in the room service box.

Shower was lacking a bit of water pressure.

Breakfast was mostly delicious. The hot food you order was amazing and some of the best eggs I've had. The cold stuff, namely the meats and cheese had clearly been out a while when we were there and the cheese had started hardening at the edges. Lovely selection of freshly made smoothies.

Staff service was a little odd. We were told our room number when we checked in and told "down the corridor and up the stairs" which was not quite as exact as needed as we had a room on the back which meant we needed a specific staircase as we found out after multiple trial and errors. Not fun lugging a suitcase.

Would still return if I stayed in Buxton again.

The hotel has really gone downhill. The service wasn’t there , the room was tired and noisy , deliveries right outside the window starting at 5am . The room we were given was a disability room so we had to shower sitting down and no bath . It had no feeling of anything special . The restaurant is over priced and food portions were ridiculously small for the £30 plus price tag . Carrots as small as a matchstick . I don’t know how they can charge what they do for mediocre food and we left hungry . The spa was nice but treatments very expensive and they don’t give you the full time allotted . It’s my 4th time here and I won’t come again . It used to feel like a treat but it doesn’t now . There seems to be no management .
