Overall, it was a good experience. Though I find having the hotel reception in the pub a strange decision. I'm assuming it is a cost cutting exercise but not one I liked. The gentleman who welcomed us was very efficient and friendly but rushed off his feet. The room was fine, bed comfortable and all clean. I particularly liked the coffee bags, which is so much better than instant coffee.

I had a wonderful and positive stay that exceeded my expectations. From the moment I entered, I was impressed by the cleanliness and overall maintenance of the room. It was exceptionally clean, which immediately made me feel at ease and comfortable. Check-in was easy through the restaurant, but there’s no actual reception. Because of that, we didn’t know breakfast was even an option until we were checking out—would’ve been happy to pay, just didn’t know it was available.

We booked a family room for four but only had two towels, which was a bit frustrating. The room itself was a good size though, with USB sockets, a hairdryer, fast free Wi-Fi, and plenty of tea and coffee. The water was nice and warm for showers, which was great.

There’s loads of parking, which is always handy. The mattress wasn’t great—you could feel all the springs—and it was really noisy early in the morning (around 5:45am to 6:45am) from deliveries to the KFC and Burger King next door. Not the best if you’re trying to sleep in.

The TV didn’t work, and with no reception, there was no one to speak to about it.

We ate in the restaurant but ended up waiting ages just for drinks. The staff weren’t sure about any of the deals or discounts, and while the food was okay, it really wasn’t worth the price. Honestly, I’d say grab something from the Burger King, Greggs, or Asda next door instead.

Overall, it was alright, but there were a few things that could’ve made it a much better stay.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely experience once we found the hotel! We booked through booking.com and used their directions to find the hotel. However, it took us way too far down the road to a different hotel! It was very confusing but we figured it out. Upon arrival, we saw that we needed to go to the pub across the carpark to check in, no problems there. We found our room very quickly and it was a lovely size. I booked a double room and stated that there were 2 guests. I was a bit disappointed to find that the bed we had was just two twin beds pushed together, so there was a ridge going down the middle of the bed which wasn't very comfortable. Also, there was only one towel which was disappointing and there was no one at reception during our stay who could get us another so we ended up sharing - not the end of the world. The toilet roll hadn't been replaced and was running quite low which was a problem - again, there was no one at reception to sort this out and no instructions on who to contact should we have any problems, but we used it sparingly and it lasted us (just!). The room was lovely and clean though with the tea and coffee fully stocked. We enjoyed our stay and would probably book again if these little things were to be sorted out.

Can't fault this place even though I did think it was a little expensive. And the Cleaner forgot to clean the stairs. First impressions and all that. And then our Bathroom was a disgrace not cleaned at all ?
