We felt like guests, even family, during our one-night stay at Fern Lee. Our rooms were roomy, comfortable, and lovely. Our hosts went above and beyond in their flexibility, thoughtfulness and hospitality. My family continued their hike but due to a medical issue that required me to stop hiking I was able to check in early. They provided transportation for me and my family and in all ways made us feel at home. Breakfast was delicious. We were so impressed by our hosts, our lodging and all they did to make sure we were well fed and well taken care of that we plan to return next year to use Fern Lee as a base lodging for several days so we can spend more time in Carlisle (a delight!) and taking day trips so I can hike some of the Wall Path areas I missed.

Fern Lee Guest House is close to the city centre , Our Room was spotlessly clean with a lovely bathroom and well stoked Tea & Coffee making facilities . Debbie our host was very friendly and helpful . Parking on site was fairly small but it is free and probably good for round 4 vehicles. ||Fantastic Experience, Great Hosts, Very Comfortable Room, Brilliant Breakfast. What more can i say, Excellent 5/5

After our first full day walking on the Hadrian's Wall Trail, we were so grateful Fern Lee Guest House was so close to the trail. Our accommodations were impeccable, as was the breakfast. We ordered a packed lunch, which was ready to go in the morning. They are quite strict about no early check-in, but this was not an issue for us. Light sleepers should note that I did need my earplugs at night because of road noise.

Beautiful house, convenient for the town centre (15 mins walk) very comfortable bed, quiet area, spacious room. Plenty of choice for the breakfast buffet. Of the cooked breakfast, the scrambled egg was my favourite. Owners Debbie & Mark friendly & helpful.

Overall enjoyed our stay, location was very close to central Carlisle, rooms where a good size and beds very firm (which I like). ||Very clean also, no dust noted even on the 25 year old monopoly board. ||Breakfast was standard as expected

My friend and I were walking Hadrian's Wall and checked into Fernlea for two nights. We got a lovely warm welcome from the host and shown to a lovely bright spotlessly clean room. Breakfast was really good - cooked perfectly!

Comfy, clean, quiet, very friendly, all the facilities you need for a stay, close to city centre. Good breakfast - this is not always available due to size of dining room, but we were squeezed in. ||Good for walkers - trays provided in rooms for wet and dirty boots!

We had an enjoyable stay visiting Carlisle and walking Hadrian's Wall Path. Our room was comfortable, our host was friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was tasty and filling. The guest house is within walking distance of historic attractions in Carlisle and is quite close to Hadrian's Wall Path.
