Myself, my daughter. husband and 99 year old grandma arrived to stay here before going to Thursford Christmas spectacular. Couldnt fault location as only a 5 min drive away. Couldnt fault hospitality on arrival in practice, of providing a lovely afternoon tea with homemade scones laden with fresh cream and fresh strawberries. Very nice start to the stay. The place itself is comfortable, eclectically furnished but with a style of old meets new. Very nice. The garden annexe Lavender Cottage is preferable to the upstairs bedroom and in the summer must be absolutely delightful. I cannot absolutely say as didnt have time to be sure but my experience tells me that the bed in the upstairs double room is not king sized. ||The Lavender cottage is described as having disabled facilities including wheelchair access but please be aware this is not truly wheelchair friendly access. If i hadnt have had my husband there I would have struggled to get my gran into the cottage as the driveway is big stonegravel which the wheels were getting stuck in and the pathway to the cottage (annexe) is a flagstone width and slippy. I agree with all the other lovely comments on here re the niceties provided in room but didnt get to sample the breakfast!||This is where I am truly dissapointed as this is one of the first places have stayed for a long time that would have recommended to my very fussy parents. However my gran had a nasty fall in the room and to cut a long story short despite being stoic enough about it to still attend the show as she was so desperate to do so, she is now in hospital and will be for a very long time. The owners didnt know the end outcome but they did know we were going to take her to a hospital instead of staying the night because she had deteriorated whilst at the show, but still deemed it necessary to charge us the full rate which in total was £200 with deposit we had paid earlier. I didnt expect a total freebie but I did request a reduced rate but the reply was sorry but could have filled this place with a party of 6 tonight. I was asked if had insurance which I do but doesnt cover a 1 night break only. We left at approx 10.30pm Maybe the lesson learnt is I now know why I am a Health Professional and not a business woman.

This place is incredible. We had a short break here last year for the Thursford Christmas Spectacular and we enjoyed our stay so much we returned for a week long visit. We were lucky enough to have Lavender cottage in the garden which is quite something. I won't bother listing the good things. Not enough space. Quite simply neither the place, nor Wendy & Graham can be faulted. It's simply the best.

I booked the cottage for a family break the second week of September, for me and my partner, mum, sister and niece who is 2 and half. Well it was a beautiful cottage and we were amazed from the moment we walked in! |The cottage was beautiful and isolated so it was so peaceful! |We walked in and were greeted by a lovely welcome card and a beautiful welcome basket with top class treats! Such a lovely touch! |Everything in the cottage was done to such a high standard and the attention to detail was second to none! The little touches and beautiful things in the cottage made it so homely! |The pantry was well stocked with lots of kitchen basic essential which was unexpected, but really useful! There was a BBQ deck chairs buckets, fishing nets etc everything you would need! |Penny went to so much trouble for my niece the toys that had been left out for her were amazing and she loved playing with then, the travel fit had been made up along with a grow bag and a lovely bath robe, so thoughtful! |I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone, it's was cosy and in a great location to explore all of north Norfolk. |Thank you so mi h once again Penny.

We stayed two nights at Field House on 19 & 20 November and found it to be charming.||We were welcomed by Graham who helped with our luggage and showed us to our room (Lavender Cottage), which is an annexe in the garden and truly perfect! Such attention to detail and beautifully clean.||||We were then treated to tea and home made mince pies presented on lovely china, in front of a log fire in a very comfortable lounge.||||Breakfast was beautifully prepared and very tasty.||||Many five star hotels would do well to take lessons from Graham and his wife with regard to service with a smile and comfort and cleanliness.||||Perfect in every way, can't wait to return!

Second visit and just as good as last years stay. It was my Sisters first visit and she had a great time. We will return.||||We both bought marmalade made by Wendy, lovely.||The breakfast sets you up for the day and was delicious.||Wendy and Graham are excellent hosts and should be very proud to have such a lovely guest house.||No suprise they have won awards and have a 5 star rating. Stayed here with our children for one night - tried to book for two but no availability. What can I say but that we were delighted with our accommodation (we stayed in Field Room and our children in Lavender Cottage), the splendid breakfast, the service, the cleanliness. Mr & Mrs Dolton work very hard to achieve such perfection. Thank you! We would definitely like to come back.

A truly superb find - spotlessly clean, beautiful decor, delicious breakfasts and such unusual attention to detail, which makes staying here a real treat. An ideal place for anyone who appreciates a little luxury.||We would defy anyone not to be impressed by Field House, and are in complete agreement with earlier reviews.
