Staying at the Fistral has become a bit of a pre Christmas tradition for us, having visited 5 of the last 6 years. It’s a fabulous hotel and probably still our favourite in Cornwall. It’s got a great relaxed feel to it and the staff are all fantastic - particularly at breakfast. ||However, having become “regulars”, some parts of the hotel have declined. Firstly the pool/spa facilities - the changing rooms are in need of a little tlc: floors were wet, cubicle door locks need replacing and just an outline of where the swimsuit dryer was once located is visible. Secondly, the food menus - as another reviewer stated the menu seems to have gone a little left field. We like good food, albeit fairy traditionally based. The Dune menu this year was not to our tastes - obviously subjective - so we ate in the bar. This was okay, but the chips (as part of the fish and chips) were a touch undercooked for my liking. We also noticed a couple of Uber eats being delivered to the hotel……. So perhaps our opinion of the dining options are shared by other guests?||On the whole we would still return in 2025, as we regularly stay in other similar type hotels locally, and feel the Fistral is still the best…….. yet could be improved.

Great hotel in a great location and one of the best views from a hotel in Newquay.
The breakfast was delicious, the room was modern and very clean and the bar/restaurant spaces were very relaxing.
The spa on the other hand was slightly lacking unfortunately maybe it is too small an area for the size of the hotel , but it was very noisy and not overly relaxing.
Overall the hotel was great but let down by the spa I’m afraid :(.

We just had a exceptional meal with the best service I've ever had. Noah was super friendly, so easy to have a conversation with and asked lots of questions. He really made the twilight experience so much better just by giving us a fantastic service. Thank you Noah, we will definitely be back soon, hopefully with you serving us again.

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Great room, immaculate with a view across the bay and huge balcony, excellent service everywhere - especially the reception and breakfast team lovely food in the bar, really good wine and drinks, and one of the best breakfasts ever. Sauna, good gym, perfect after a day out. Nothing was too much trouble, and our experience just doesn't correlate with the negative reviews. One of the best hotel stays we've had anywhere!!

A great getaway! Spacious rooms, well equipped with optional sea views. Staff are friendly and polite. Couple of negatives: husband didn’t like the pillows (too soft) and only 1 vegan option in the restaurant (not great when staying more than 1 night). Steam room and pool area very clean and well appointed. A fantastic place to relax and unwind. Beach right on the doorstep

Had two nights here over the New Year and what a great time we had. The staff are the jewel in the crown here, every single one of them was so helpful, friendly and professional. They are a real credit to the hotel.||The hotel made such an effort for the NYEs celebrations with a really tasty dinner, great entertainment and a lot of attention to detail.||Breakfast was plentiful with continental option and cooked food. ||We also used the spa facilities hutch was never overcrowded.||The hotel has such a relaxed feel about it and has outstanding views over Fistral Beach, we returned very chilled.||Can’t wait to return to this hotel it has such a good vibe about it. Keep up the good work!!

Room and spa disappointed us but the service and location are brilliant!

We felt the room (Sea View Room) was in need of a little attention, bathroom dated and dirty. Also very occasionally smelt of drains coming from bathroom.

The spa facilities really let it down for us (we actually decided to book use of spa facilities elsewhere during our stay because of it).
The pool was ridiculously cold and not what you expected for a spa designed for adults only relaxation. It has just two small chairs around pool area which of course get taken up immediately with people dumping towels, so no where to sit/lay to relax especially if busy when waiting to use hot tub.
We went up to relaxation room and felt that was way too cold to relax in too.

However, the bar, restaurant and reception decor etc is beautiful and service was 10/10.
Especially a few waiter called Noah, he went above and beyond for us and service was exceptional. So a huge thank you to him!

The location is brilliant, amazing views of Fistral Bay.
We did really like the Gaia products in the room.

Parking is hit and miss but we lucked out and got a space.

Overall, good stay but don’t think we would rush to return.

Me and my partner were very disappointed by our stay this time around. We came back after having a great stay with Fistral Hotel in June, but unfortunately this stay didn’t live up to the same standards. |My partner had paid for an add on of petals as it was a night away for our anniversary. This cost £15, and they were rather underwhelming, and the petals were not even red. The bed was also solid in comparison to the one we stayed in the first time, and had a large lump down the middle of it. |We dined in the Dune restaurant, which was amazing when we went in June, but was also very disappointing this time around. For mains we had beef strip loin, which was very tough. We requested for this to be cooked medium, but it came raw and was inedible. |For dessert was a pineapple tart tatin. The pineapple looked as if it had come out of a tin, and the tart itself was non-existent, just a smear of suet on the plate.|The following morning we returned to the restaurant for breakfast, we both ordered a breakfast which came with poached eggs, which were also disappointing as they came hard boiled. |The service was great, and staff were very attentive to my dietary requirements, unfortunately there were just a number of things that let us down on our stay this time considering the cost.
