Late spring, lunch time visit. Reasonably busy but seated without a booking. Really efficient service and very friendly. Menu slightly differentiates itself from the norm with is a nice touch and good quality food. Dine in or take away options available. Lovely place in a lovely setting. Will not hesitate to visit again.

Lovely countryside stop for a post-parkrun breakfast. We were a 2 and got seated straightaway on a Saturday at 10:30 which is superb, having since read the reviews and seen how busy this place can be. We were sat on the big table in the shop which doesn't sound like it's going to be good but is actually great. We felt the high-up chairs were like tiny armchairs, which we loved, and it being slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of the main cafe gave us a sense of privacy and peace which we really liked. It also meant I had time to have a good browse of the shop stock and select my purchases in advance! We were to order at the shop till, which meant it was in our control- perfect! Teas and food both came quickly. Nice coffee. Breakfast options were good and the food was enjoyable. They don't allow 'swaps' on the breakfasts, though, so bear in mind if you're a fussy one. Husband enjoyed his and he particularly liked having both white bread (was offered a choice to seedy soughdough) and "normal beans" made him happy. I had Turkish eggs - the garlicky yoghurt was perfect; creamy but a good depth of flavour.

There is a time limit to tables, clearly explained, but as the food comes fast this wasn't a problem for us. We didn't feel rushed, we had plenty of time, and the food was great.

Have already recommended this to others and likely will be back! 🩷

We had a wonderful experience at Folk Café. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. Nelson, our Great Dane, was made to feel so welcome — which is not always the case given his size and needs. The team kindly let us choose the best spot to accommodate him, a small but thoughtful gesture that meant a great deal to us. We’ll definitely be returning.

Well this is the 3rd time visiting here. Twice during the summer & sooo hot sat in the shade in the garden. This time pouring with rain so yes sat inside. We will be visiting again next week on our return home.

This was my first visit to FOLK and ordered the Caeser salad with fried chicken fillets which was absolutely delicious and of generous proportions; so much so, that I didn't manage to leave room for a slice of one of their cakes, which all looked amazing too. The food service was prompt and the waiting staff were attentive and very friendly. I sat in the lovely garden which was popular on this sunny day. Highly recommended and definitely worth the very minor trip out of central Bury St Edmunds.
