This is a lovely 300yr old farmhouse which has been modernized enough for comfort but but maintains all its lovely old wonky, squeaky charm. Welcome warm, beds were super. comfy, breakfast great. We could easily have stayed another day.
Fun to chat with Charles about his long family history, while looking at the large portraits and imaging the manor house they must have once hung in. Loved our stay.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location along the Cotswold Way (of which there aren’t many). The village is tiny but quaint, but the local pub is drab so you need to go further afield if you want to eat out.
The room was very nice but comes with all the caveats of an old house, but the bed was way too soft. No locks on doors. Bathroom was very nice.
The hosts were pleasant but a little stiff and we had some odd experiences which marred the whole thing.
When we arrived they sit you down with a tea and cake. This seems to be something places on the Cotswold way like to do but it’s super irritating as you sit with your luggage in someone’s living room drinking a tea you don’t want waiting to go to the room you’ve booked and take off all your hiking stuff. Felt like a hangover of an aristocratic diaspora banished to run a small hotel in the countryside.
The evening meal was served in an unheated dining room and was basically a batch cook of a curry they had heated out the freezer - very nice but not worth the hefty price tag, and was half the portion size it should have been. We were starving afterwards and had to go buy some chips at the pub.
When we asked if they could do a packed lunch they looked like we’d asked them to sous vide us a grouse and said they couldn’t because we didn’t tell them in advance. Not sure how much advance notice one needs to make a sandwich, the evening before felt sufficient.
At breakfast when we asked for more toast they came back with one slice. I couldn’t tell if it was a joke at first.
Overall, it was the most expensive place we stayed at in our time in the Cotswolds and couldn’t justify the price.

Comfortable stay in historic farmhouse. Attic bedroom was a bit restricted in terms of space & layout as is bathroom but was cozy with nice roof light countryside views. The hosts were really nice & I enjoyed talking to Charles about the cricket. The breakfast was excellent using fresh, quality local ingredients. The best was Deborah's granola which was really tasty. The countryside walks nearby are excellent especially the climb to William Tyndale Tower. Would like to return here the next time we're in the area.

Lovely country cottage. Good location for exploring Bristol and the lower Cotswolds.

The Forthay B & B was part of our package arrangement as we walked the Cotswold Way. It was certainly the best we encountered over our 8 day walk. We were welcomed graciously with tea and homemade scones in the front garden as we arrived and soon felt revived from our long day of walking. The hosts are very helpful and pleasant and the room was very comfortable. If we would have known better, we would have planned an extra rest day as our only regret is we didn't have quite enough time to fully enjoy the place and surrounding countryside. Superb breakfast in the morning and we were quickly on our way

This bnb is situated in a very quiet area. The building is beautiful and has some very interesting quirky features like the different shaped internal doors and a bread oven in the fireplace. The hosts were very friendly and polite.||||The bedroom was very cold but we accept it is a very old building and the one radiator is not sufficient to heat the room. We wore fleeces to bed.||||What we didn’t find acceptable were large stains on the bedroom floor carpet, the fitted wardrobe in the bedroom being full of the hosts clothes and shoes, a hole in the duvet cover and old toothpaste stains on the bathroom shelf. ||||If it had been cheaper it would have been more acceptable, but we stayed the night before in a pub in Swinbrook which was fabulous and cost the same.

A very warm welcome from Charles and Deb, a nice cup of tea in the snug was very pleasant on arrival. Beautiful period cottage full of character and tastefully decorated, dog friendly to! My room was very spacious, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom very clean and functional. My bathroom wasn’t en-suite, just a few steps down the hall, not inconvenient at all. I’ll certainly return next time I’m in the area.

An absolutely wonderful bed breakfast! Charles and Debs were amazing hosts, the cottage itself is lovely. Really nice breakfast and dinner. There were 2 of us and our golden retriever- all of us were made to feel so welcome. We had a terrible journey to get there and had not been able to organise dinner - charles booked us into the local pub who also were very accommodating with our dog. Lovely area and lots of fantastic walks. This was the first holiday with our dog and we will definitely be going back. Could not recommend Forthay bed and breakfast highly enough!
