Lovely staff, plenty free no nonsense (didn’t have to register with a parking meter just let reception know the car registration plate) parking, spacious room with a comfortable bed. Breakfast to go was included and great value. Only minor issue was it was an extremely hot day and we struggled to sleep with only a small fan. Will definitely go back to this hotel again.

Rooms are very dark/standard. But clean. The hotel itself is not pleasant. Built like a retirement home. There’s no breakfast area, just a lobby. If you pay for their breakfast it consists of a “to go” bap which is awful. A machine coffee and that’s it. Everything else costs extra. It’s is obviously very close to the road so you have noise. Rooms come with the very minimum. Including half a roll of toilet paper. There’s a put at the front of this “hotel” it isn’t bad. Food is ok. And has a beer garden.

Only reason it gets 2 stars is because of the pub at the front and the fact I ordered an “upgraded” room as it was in for cheap last minute.

I work around the country on business. This is low quality even for a best western in my opinion.

I would not recommend this hotel. The breakfast is literally one of the biggest jokes I have seen any hotel pull in the years I’ve been travelling.

Won’t be back.

We had a really great stay and the room was larger and more comfortable than we were expecting. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We would have had breakfast if you could buy breakfast items such as croissants separately but it wasn't a big issue as Toby Carvery was walkable. The pub next door was also really nice.

It is not a nice hotel. An old premier inn with basic facilities. But the sleep was amazing, brilliant staff. Although it's a grab and go breakfast, its very good. And its clean. With all the facilities.
The fore alarm is under the hair drying area. So will go off if you are drying your hair. So find another place in the room

We booked two rooms. The double was fine, however in the twin there was no shower gel provided & the Tv would not switch on.

Room smelt musty, and bathroom ceiling had mould all over the ceiling. The extractor fan isn't good enough to ventilate the room. Had to request a fan to keep airflow throughout the room as it smelt of mould. The mould was wipeable, so the cleaning team should/could of picked it up. Table edge was repaired with cellotape. First breakfast bap was dry and crusty which was unpleasant and the coffee machine was out of order but wasn't given a refund for this. Sent a number of emails regarding this to the hotel management and higher but after 4 weeks have still yet to get a response, I find this highly unprofessional

Stay here every few month as a family of 4 when travelling from Liverpool visiting my in laws who live not far away. The hotel gives us chance to get out of the house and have a break and do our own thing while visiting and it's always lovely.
Always clean, always friendly staff especially one inparticular I've forgotten her name now I'm so sorry but a blonde girl works on reception, she was working when we checked in this time around 8:30pm on Sat 28th June. Such a lovely, lovely girl. We've never had anything to complain about until this visit. The room above us came in at about 12:30 and we're like a herd of elephants literally two lots of foot steps bit they were up and down up and down with the most heavy footed walk ever I think they were sprinting at one point ant then appeared to be jumping on the spot then running again. Slamming doors & genuinely being horrificly ignorant. At 2:10 am I decided to either go upstairs myself or ask reception and there was a nice man on reception and when I said were in room and the room above us are...... I couldn't even finish and he was like are they making alot of noise? And he was from around the desk apologising and sprinted up the stairs within seconds. Sure enough the noise died down substantially which is great. I couldn't believe how nice and apologetic he was and so quick to rectify the situation. We always choose here anyway and now we will be even more. Thank you for a lovely stay again

I hope the noisy ones upstairs come here to leave a review and realise how absolutely abysmal their attitude to other people is. So grateful for the man on the desk because I'd have been arrested for murder if I'd have had to see them 🫠

Terrible Experience – Avoid This Hotel

I had a slip and fall in the shower because the bathtub was extremely slippery and had no grip at all. It was a standard bathtub with an attached shower head, but there were no anti-slip mats or grab bars. I ended up falling and injuring my hip, knee, and elbow.

When I reported this to the manager, I was told that anti-slip mats are available on request—something that was never mentioned anywhere during booking or check-in. There were also no handrails, and I was told those are only installed in accessible rooms. This is a serious safety oversight.

To make things worse, the breakfast was extremely disappointing. It was just a basic "grab and go" setup, which is unacceptable considering the high price of the stay. For the amount you pay, the service and amenities are absolutely pathetic.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel if you can.
