What a gem of a place to stay. Coran and Albi (a well behaved friendly oodle dog) made us very welcome, nothing was too much trouble.
So very peaceful, with just the sounds of the countryside. I really appreciated being able to sleep with the window open.
What a fantastic recent history this place has, from Japanese Manga fame, visits from the Japanese Royal family to scone and cake baking 😃
We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return.
Thank you Caron❤️

What makes this B&B so good is the host Rita and her two dogs Polly and Pickles. She was very welcoming and we had a chat, cuppa and cake nearly every day in her beautiful garden. She could not have been a better host. The room was very comfortable and a good size with an excellent private bathroom next door along the landing. Breakfast was very tasty and made in whatever way I wanted. The location is very peaceful. There are a couple of excellent pubs nearby (which Rita was only too happy to book for me) and Castle Combe is a few minutes away. If you are going to stay in this area, I recommend staying at Rita’s place.

Room is very cozy and comfortable! A house is super lovely and peaceful. Me and my mum love it here. Scone is also very delicious. Caron is a very nice host and helpful. The location is near Castle Combe and Lacock Abbey, so it’s very convenient!

My husband stayed for 5 nights and I for 3. I am a bad sleeper but had 3 wonderful nights sleep, not sure why but there was just a really relaxing feeling right from the moment I entered the B&B. We were at a race meeting at Castle Combe race circuit and it was a pleasure to stay at Fosse Farm Cottage. Breakfast was perfect, it was so much more than I expected. Scrambled eggs were special. Tried to reproduce when I got home but have not got close!! For evening meal we ate 3 times at the Salutation Inn and would recommend it. Just good eating. Nothing really fancy just really good pub grub. ||Would I stay here again, absolutely yes. Rita was a fantastic host.||Our flight home was cancelled due to a hurricane!. We stayed for a night at a lovely hotel at the airport. It was new, modern, clinical, open & airy. Given the choice I would stay in Fosse Farm cottage.

Rita welcomed us with tea and delicious cake in the sitting room when we arrived after a long flight and a shuttle ride from Heathrow, the first of many touches of hospitality that we enjoyed during our stay. We appreciated her ample and tasty breakfasts, her suggestions for supper, her lovely garden, the comfortable double room, and her two friendly and entertaining dogs. We were without a car, so she went out of her way to direct us to good walking options, and one evening, she drove us back and forth to a pub in a neighboring town for our evening meal. Rita is an excellent hostess--just the right combination of warm, friendly, and informative without compromising one's privacy. We would encourage anyone who flies into London, but who does not particularly want the immediate hustle and bustle of the city, to shuttle via Celtic Horizons to Fosse Farm Cottage instead, as we did. It is a pleasant walk to Castle Coombe via a small road by the old mill, the golf course, and then a woodland path. Thank you, Rita, for all that you did to make our stay so pleasant.

My friend Yvonne and I, at short notice, opted to participate in a workshop which was being run nearby. We decided that venturing down from London necessitated finding somewhere to stay overnight. After a number of frustrating enquiries elsewhere I came across and, after chatting with the owner Rita, was successful in booking two rooms at Fosse Farm Cottage. Yvonne and I both thought the location, house and garden charming. The accommodation felt very private, characterful, quiet, homely and was spotlessly clean. Our rooms were of a good size and the views from them, gorgeous. Rita (and her delightful and friendly dogs) were lovely hosts. On recommendation, we ate a delicious dinner at The Bell, a brief drive away. Unfortunately, my tedious back found the bed in my bedroom rather too firm, so I wasn’t able to rest as well as I would have hoped, though Yvonne had a blissfully comfortable night’s sleep in hers. Arriving downstairs, the morning began with the sight of a welcoming and elegantly laid breakfast table. We enjoyed fruit juice and fruit salad to begin with, then on offer was a choice of cereals (which neither of us decided to have) followed by a superbly prepared, entirely non-greasy cooked ‘Full English’, the components of which had been decided upon the previous evening, in addition to toast, butter and marmalade and our choice of accompanying drinks. All in all, really marvellous. Yvonne and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fosse Farm Cottage, felt it very good value and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to those looking to stay in the area. Thank you, Rita.
