I have known the Frensham Pond Hotel since the 70s/80s and decided to eat again here with friends for a reunion dinner. The overall experience was extremely disappointing and a far cry from what it used to be. The hotel is set in such an idyllic location, but that is now the only good point.|The dining room etc is a cold, uninviting room, ressembling more a company canteen than a restaurant. Absolutely no atmosphere with very bland decor and furniture. |Although the service was 'acceptable', the served food was really very basic and nothing special. Seeing from the results, we assume that there was not a proper chef in the kitchen. Whether it be for the prawn cocktail or the Thai fish cakes, the accompanying salad must have come straight from a packet..As for the Fish and Chips, the fish looked as though it had been heated in the oven but not properly fried. The couscous salad was extremely small for a main dish was not even made with proper couscous, but was in fact made with much larger wheat grains.|The red fruit crumble was really nothing to write home about and ressembled more a pre-cooked meal dessert. |All in all, it was a very disappointing (and deceiving) meal. We truly recommend going to any of the very good neighboring pubs if you wish to dine. We truly hope that the restaurant becomes once again a proper restaurant, with proper management and a proper chef as it used to be. It would be much more appropriate for such a beautiful location.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights (along with two other family members) bookending a wedding at a local wedding venue.||It was a well-chosen hotel and our room, albeit a tad on the small side, nevertheless had a separate table and two chairs to relax in. On the first night, we had a drink in the bar before moving in to the restaurant. The meal was fine although, disappointingly, there were limited vegetarian options.||Next morning, we had breakfast but, again, a slight disappointment was that some options only came at an additional cost.||Late morning, I utilised the well-resourced fitness room so as to get into a good condition for the wedding!, following which we had a nightcap in the bar.||Service throughout was very good. There was an issue with our bill but, after querying it on our return home, it was immediately resolved.||The hotel is a good position and we would be happy to return on another occasion.

We had a wonderful time and were well looked after during our stay. We travelled with a 2yo and a large group for a wedding. It felt like we were the only people at the hotel due to the care and attention we were given. I would highly recommend. The food was spot on and the view was incredible

This is a great place to rest, take in some beautiful scenery of Frensham pond, with the sounds of birds.
I have periodically visited this hotel over the past 18 months and only on one occasion recieved poor service (which is why I never went back for age's), otherwise the staff arr friendly and polite and happy to help. I've eaten a couple of times and always enjoyed my food.
I have never stayed at the hotel as I live locally, but I would consider this my local if I was a regular drinker.

We held our 65th anniversary of our Inner Wheel club in Farnborough at Frensham Pond Hotel and had a wonderful event. The event organisation all went to plan and the staff on the day were very helpful. Our 70 guests all had a great time and commented on the great food and service. We were able to have our drinks reception on the terrace overlooking the pond in warm sunshine which was a real bonus!

My partner bought me a spa day for my birthday and we booked a Friday afternoon. On arrival we had the light lunch which was amazing (only downside is I don't have the recipe for the Mexican chicken as that was one of the nicest meals I've had). Went over to the spa and had a lovely relaxing time in the pool area. It's not a huge pool (more of a large spa bath) but as it was quiet we mainly had it to ourselves. Sauna and steam room was really nice as well. Well then comes the treatments: I've had loads of treatments throughout the years but my partner has never had anything done - he hates the thought at being touched by a stranger so was a tad sceptical. We had an ajoining treatment room and had decided on a back massage and facial. I had Jo (spa manager) and he had Jose (therapist) doing the treatments, safe to say they were absolutely amazing, during the facial they left us when the face mask was on so I decided to ask my partner how he was getting on.. his reply was along the lines of I'm not even on this planet I'm so relaxed ๐Ÿ˜Œ definitely a game changer for him as he has now converted to wanting more spa days and even though there's a lot closer ones to where we live we'll be going back here. A big thank you to everyone in the restaurant and spa for making our afternoon so relaxing and enjoyable. Also there's loads of parking available and you register your cars registration plate so don't need to pay

We chose this venue for our anniversary dinner. We had eaten there before and the food had been good.|This time was certainly memorable but not in a good way.||The restaurant was empty apart from one other couple who were staying in the hotel.|The restaurant itself was tired and outside the windows on the astroturf area there was litter and untidy tables and chairs.|The wine we requested was not available so no fizz for our celebration.|The ribeye was overcooked and gristly. The replacement was also overdone. |The pork belly consisted of a few thin, dry strips on top of a heap of heavily sauced and for me, inedible noodles. I never found the carrots. ||The chef was presented to the table but nothing really sounded much like an apology. The food manager was โ€œtoo busyโ€ to talk to us until we were leaving. At this point the restaurant was virtually empty!|We were given 10% off. Really ||When I eventually got the manager on the phone some days later he declared that the price reduction was all he could offer for a ruined evening and we were promised that on our next visit we would be looked after โ€˜personallyโ€™. ||That would have been nice the first time.

I came here for lunch hoping for good food and a nice location. While the location delivered, the food is pedestrian at best. The meat was tasteless, the salads dry (when were they prepared?), desert tasted like it was out of a bottle. It's really not worth the money. A 'regular' pub offers better food at better prices.
If you must dine with the views, have a drink and eat elsewhere.
