We stayed for one night in this guest house. The price was nice, and the comfort was even better!
The host, Nigel is so friendly, easy to talk to, and always available if you need anything. I asked for some help a few times, and he was happy to assist. We really appreciated his warm welcome.
It was also a nice surprise to find biscuits, tea, coffee, and even oatmeal cups in the room, along with an electric kettle, mugs, and spoons. Everything was clean, both in the room and in the shared bathroom.
The place was quiet in the evening, at night and in the morning, so we had a peaceful stay. Convenient location for sightseeing.

Came to stay for 4 nights at £200 it was the cheapest on offer, that said it is room only. The room was always cleaned and well stocked tea, coffee etc each day. The owner greeted me on arrival, he wasn’t readily seen over the days I was there but on a positive note, I had no complaints so it was not a problem. The pub next door is handy! For it’s location, cleanliness and price I think it was an excellent choice and would be happy yo go back next year!

Fantastic service from booking over the phone to being welcomed on arrival. The room was perfect, I couldn’t fault it at all. Great price, and to have everything on your door step is a bonus. I made a mistake of paying for parking which was £16.60 for 24 hours, however they offer permits for £5 which is brilliant, and will be using this in the future, silly me. Overall I highly recommend, and will certainly be back. Thank you very much, especially at short notice.

I stayed at the George with six friends on the weekend of the Plymouth v Cardiff City football match. We were also meeting up with a large group of other friends for drinks at the Barbican Waterfront in memory of our friend and top Bluebird Raynor Lewis. The George was ideally located for this. The rooms were very reasonably priced but absolutely spotless and comfortable. The Gipsy Moth pub next door was also a great meeting place (see pic) for us. Fab beers and drinks. I booked the George direct and found the owner Nigel to be very helpful and accommodating. Many thanks for a great weekend! Will definitely be recommending the George to others👍

We had a very nice stay in one of the rooms on the second floor, we were slightly sceptical before arriving as the room has no en-suite but were pleasantly surprised to have our own bathroom on the ground floor + toilets on the first floor. The room was clean and we had a friendly welcome on arrival. The guest house is in a great location next to Plymouth Hoe and 5min walk from the main city centre. I’d definitely stay again & recommend it to friends. The Gipsy Moth pub next door is also great for a nightcap.

Not what I was expecting, the price was steep for the a room with 3 single bed (Bedroom 6) so small this is located at the top of the property The shower is on the ground floor and the toilets are 2 floors down from bedroom 6. Decor needs some maintenance. This is the worst guest house I have stayed in Plymouth!

Clean, privately owned, traditional, lots of coffee, tea and milk, good touch, molto importante for me that. Host very accomodating and normal and personable, really enjoyed it. Thank you

The room was dirty even had mould on the walls and even in the bathroom I had to pay extra money even in the shops to buy disaffect spray and spray everywhere even back over twice to even make sure all bacteria was gone and even then I’m wasn’t 100% it was totally gone. The bathroom even wasn’t great making it all a complete match, the shower even had left over hair in it? Was not impressed and felt horrible I couldn’t even bare to touch the sides in the shower after seeing that. I had to buy water from shops for the kettle etc, my girlfriend felt really itchy and even I was it was so bad we had to leave early also I just couldn’t even bare a second of being there , definitely wouldn’t be staying there again, one star for me would not recommend.
