my partner and i accidentally stumbled upon this place today on our travels, we were so hungry, and this really hit the spot! afternoon tea, less than £20 a head. toast and tea, followed by a main course, then a tower of cakes.
restaurant was lovely and clean, the meals were absolutely delicious (very strongly recommend the steak pie!), and the staff were friendly and obliging.
lovely wee place, next time we come we’ll spend a night too 🙂 thanks!

Was an impromptu booking a couple of hours before. We walked in and was unsure if we were in the correct entrance but we had a lovely lady that said she wouldn't be long and come to us, we got seated in a booth and given menus. We ordered starters of Hagis Fritters and mozzarella dippers, then for main we ordered steak pie and chips and also macaroni cheese. The food was delicious, hot, and delivered quickly. After we had our main we got the desserts and had Sticky Toffee pudding with ice cream and the cheesecake of the day which was Kinder Bueno, my partner asked for half cream and half ice cream which wasn't a problem at all.

Overall, great service, great food, and great prices. Will be back next time we visit.

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel did not meet expectations. The room lacked basic amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, and slippers. Additionally, the breakfast was very minimal. The only egg option was fried in oil – I asked for a boiled egg, but was told it wasn’t possible. There were no sandwich ingredients available and only a very limited selection of fresh food. Overall, I was disappointed the breakfast offering, because that was the main thing i was looking for when i did my booking.

I arrived at midnight on the 10th of may.
No one on the reception desk but found him on the bar which was fine because I was checking in so late.
At the sign in desk I lent on the desk which the man very abruptly said "what are you doing don't lean on that desk that's your side and this is mine".
Due to being midnight I didn't say anything and just went along with it to save me sleeping in the car.
On arrival to the room I wish I'd just told him and slept in the car.
These rooms haven't been renovated in years.
The bed was the worst mattress I've ever slept on.
The bathroom ceiling was mouldy and the full room smelt of damp.
the toilet trickled all night.
Up there with one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in.
The breakfast in the morning was included but due to the cleanliness of the room I thought better and left.
Don't listen to any reviews on booking.com this spots dirty.

I visited this hotel on a work trip yesterday. Freshly decorated spacious rooms, good shower, comfy bed. The pub adjoining was excellent. Very friendly, brilliant service, great food and beer! Perfect stay!

Lets start with the positives. The price was good, The hotel well sign posted,large Car Park, Nice looking from outside in green surtoundings, spaciois room, $Spacioids Bathroom large Walk in shower, Has a bar / restaurant on site. NOW FOR THE NEGATIVES -- On arrival at 1700 the Reception was not staffed and the Back Office was open but nobody there.i had to walkinto the bar to find someone to check me in.The whole place Bar and Reception had a smell of fish! The fan in the bathroom would not turn off an could be heard all night even with the door shut.There was only one coffee sachet 2 milk but no cups or spoons. There were 2 small black hairs in the bsthroom -1 on the toilet pan and 2 on the sink ans 1von the floor. NO mirror to sit and dry your hair in the bedroom and no comfy chairs to sit on even though therecwerevplenty of foom there.Had to go back to Reception to ask for Wi Wif. The bed was very uncomfortable. I have to say the reception staff were helpul when asked about wifi and provided more milk tea bags when requested.|Major ACTION NEEDED - There was no fire evacuation plan posted on the back of the door. We hsve yet tobhave breakfast orvshower do unsyre of quality of both.This is kisted as 3 stsr but zi must give it 2 stars

Family of 4 for a Christmas menu lunch.
Turkey was amazing, but everything else looked and tasted like it was just reheated.
Not value for money in my opinion.
Could not relax as staff were running about trying to do 10 things at once. Had my pint taken away before it was finished, so when I mentioned it, she put it back in front off me, with her finger halfway inside the glass, no replacement or refund offered.

Sorry, but will not be back.

Went for dinner, was told the 'special' was chicken jalfraze and it was awful. Basically tinned tomatoes, a few chilli's and chicken. When asked how the food was I told them it was very bland and not even given an apology. Won't be returning.
